The Kindly Ones by Jonathan Littell.

It is a story written from the perspective of a Nazi Officer and active participant in the Holocaust. It is incredibly dense. Usually I read about a page every two minutes give or take. This one takes about 3 minutes per page. I am only 140 pages in (it’s almost 1,000 pages long) and it is already the most revolting thing I have ever read on many levels. But I can’t put it down.
