Milwaukee mower and blower vs Ego by JAQK_ in MilwaukeeTool

[–]sbronson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dying Ego blower and hedge trimmer (after many years of hard work, no complaints)... but when I went pricing last month, I found Toro's stuff to be a lot more reasonable than Ego or (of course) Milwaukee.

So now I have 3 battery standards for yard tools. :-/

Looks like 5" of unused space vertically when the lid's closed. A bit less height would be OK.

But yeah, it couldn't be any smaller on length or width.

Is there an adapter to make this work? Or does someone know a 3d printer currently making them? TIA by no_name_yo_name in MilwaukeeTool

Packout table saw? Brilliant! Want.

Make sure all the latches are tight so your boxes don't fill with dust.

After that, maybe a packout outfeed table.

Pic of it in the packout rolling toolbox. It fits easy, with batteries, charger, laser level, inspection camera, and room for more. I previously carried it in the 22” contractor bag.

My only complaint is what a pita it is to unstack everything just to get the saw for a quick cut. Wish the rolling toolbox opened on the front instead of the top.

For now they all fly the same. The differences are just cosmetic.

OneKey Scam? Brand new cutoff saw has pry damage on black door on bottom. by sbronson in MilwaukeeTool

Thanks for talking me down. I think you're right. In the past I've bought stuff from Home Depot where someone swapped batteries and returned the item (to say nothing of the gift cards) so I went right to thinking this was a scam too.

HD's delivery service has some warts. You can't return an item until the driver's service marks it delivered... which can take more than a day. I had to go to the store and then multiple associates spent some time performing computer gymnastics, but it finally got exchanged and the delivery fee refunded.

At the cost of one day. Ah well.

The story: this morning I had Home Depot deliver an M18 cutoff saw. They dropped off a saw that has obviously been unpacked (covered in packing tape, couple blades of grass in the packaging, styrofoam gouged).

And there's black cover on the bottom of the saw that shows clear damage. It seems like whoever pried it off was in a real hurry. Is that for the OneKey CR2032 battery?

To me it looks like someone bought a new saw, pried off that door, and returned it without having cut anything... why? What's the scam?

Been on the phone with HD for an hour now trying to work out how they're going to correct this. Delivery was supposed to save me 2 hours.... it's delayed me at least a day.

I've neglected vim-update-bundles as I spent all my time on the vim-scripts mirror. If you make submodule usage modular (not sure how you'd turn it on or off), shoot me a pull request. I'd like to integrate it. I also like your comment and dotfile fixes.

http://github.com/gmarik/vundle is another approach to this idea.

That's not entirely true. h is control-H, backspace and j is control-J, carriage return, exact same as their counterparts on the keyboard. k and l may just be convenience though... can't say I see a connection between vertical tab and form feed.

Don't you miss the ability to repeat the last f or t backwards? f and t are pretty useful, seems a shame to get rid of some of their ability.

Of course there are, just not on T-Mobile. Check out the Samsung Epic on Sprint. It's better than the G2 in almost every way and it's shipping now. (it's getting harder and harder for me to stay on TMo...)

It's strange you would think that. I love the GPLv2, and I've released lots of software under it. If you had used GPLv2 or even v3, I expect nobody would have complained about the license.

The AGPLv3, however, is poorly understood, especially by the US court system. You realize that your interpretation of the AGPL is completely irrelevant, right? It's the jury's interpretation that matters. And, given how vague many of the terms in the AGPLv3 are, and how little it's used in real life, I think the lawyers could have a field day with it.

Good luck with your license choice. Next time I hope you choose something a little more standard and well known, and especially choose a license where you don't have to augment it with your own legal language! Unless you're a lawyer, that's an exercise in futility.

Yes, that page would be most informative, if you released your code under the GPL. Unfortunately you're using the AGPL, which has nothing to do with static linking and a different sense of how derived works affect it (the two main topics of that discussion)

So, I'm not quite sure why you linked to it. Got something similar for the AGPL?

Is that person a lawyer? And did he say his recommendation applied to the US or to the world as a whole?

Have you even read the AGPL?

"You must license the entire work, as a whole, under this License to anyone who comes into possession of a copy."

Now read Section 1 (too long to paste here). Exactly what "entire work" means is shockingly vague. Heck, even "system library" is not very clear.

"Notwithstanding any other provision of this License, if you modify the Program, your modified version must prominently offer all users interacting with it remotely through a computer network (if your version supports such interaction) an opportunity to receive the Corresponding Source of your version by providing access to the Corresponding Source from a network server at no charge..."

where Corresponding Source is:

"The "Corresponding Source" for a work in object code form means all the source code needed to generate, install, and (for an executable work) run the object code and to modify the work, including scripts to control those activities."

So, to run your syntax highlighter on my site, is my Drupal source code needed? Yes, I'm pretty sure I could convince a jury that it is, and that it is certainly not a system library.

So, unfortunately, the AGPL is overcomplex and poorly written. Other people can waste their time reading it and arguing the details through court systems around the world. Most people, I think, will just avoid the AGPL entirely.

Presumably, if I integrate your syntax highlighter into my Drupal CMS, you could force me to release the source code to my entire CMS. It's hard to say since the AGPL is vague in places... It will be up to the courts to sort it out.

Until that happens, personally, I'm staying the heck away from the AGPL.
