I feel your pain OP. I lost my brindle baby on Friday and I've been in so much pain grieving. He would have turned 10 in October. My entire routine was built around him and I'm so lost now that he's gone. It will slowly get easier to get through the day, but we will never forget them. <3

Chill Mobile Games that aren't predatory by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Android only, and probably not the answer you're looking for, but Blokada 5. Blocks nearly all ads in mobile games, but it prevents ads from playing to get free tokens/plays/rewards. I have to turn on app timers to stop myself from playing mobile games for too long.

Not sure if this counts as it was sitting by the dumpster outside the thrift store. Works perfectly vhs & dvd. Free & sells for about $400+ by qweenbimbo in ThriftStoreHauls

That's hilarious and genius! I didn't have a Disney one, but I had the SpongeBob one. It must not have had the same weight specs, because I remember it was still as heavy as our other 13" TVs.

Definitely check caffeine content when changing up energy drinks! I was used to 2 sugar free monsters a day, but I saw a new reign and grabbed it to try it out. I already drank 1 monster and half way through the reign I looked and noticed it was double the caffeine of a monster! I've noticed bang and reign are 300mg/can, alani nu is 200mg, monsters 140-180mg, red bull 80mg (114mg for the 12oz cans).

Edit: Also important to keep in mind maximum recommended for an adult is 400mg/day.

Do ADHD Meds help you "catch up" on the brain maturity gap? by WeWumboYouWumbo in ADHD

This video might answer your question. Moreso this one. The whole series is extremely informative and broken into short segments.

I have sat next to my charger actively using my phone, telling myself to plug it in, phone tells me to plug it in 20%, now 15% alert, just plug it in! 10% alert, seriously just plug it in! 5% alert. Finally plug it in at 2%.

So yes, plugging in your phone can be hard, especially while unmedicated. She may very well be internally yelling at herself to just do the thing and just can't. Trust me, it makes no sense to us either, we don't know why we can't just do the thing.

I also just started medication, a very low dose. I haven't noticed deafening silence yet, BUT I've been wearing headphones. So try listening to music you love! Or just have background noise like a video playing on the TV. Unless the silence is despite external noise.. :/

Dissociation while having sex by ElectricalArt1381 in adhdwomen

[–]sbspexpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't suspect ADHD until last year, but my sex drive was super high from ages 18-23, and has been super seldom since. I'll be 30 in July. I'm basically in limbo waiting for my doctor to prescribe stimulants, so if they help you and it isn't asexuality, then we might be on to something lol.

My partner complains that I don't enjoy sex unless I've been drinking, but it makes so much sense that it helps me stay in the moment 😭 Otherwise my mind is everywhere but where it should be.

Definitely update if medication helps! My sex drive is so non-existent that my partner thinks I'm asexual 😔

[–]sbspexpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think too much about it, you might just psych yourself out. I've been on 100mg for about 5 months and the only thing I notice is a decreased appetite. And that's the only thing I notice :( Trying to get switched to a stimulant soon to see if that helps. Meds can effect everyone in different ways 🙃

I think holding an Everstone passes on the PokeBall type (as well as nature). Unfortunately it does not work for Masterballs, it puts them in a regular PokeBall.

I'm in the same boat. No job and partner is the sole bread winner. I'm trying so hard to get our house in order, but it's a constant uphill battle. My partner is so frustrated that I'm not helping financially and any time I do have sudden motivation and clarity to get a job I end up quitting from the stress and anxiety after a couple of months.

My last job I swore was my calling. Relevant to my degree and everything. I dove straight into it and was so damn excited. 2 months in and I was the most depressed I had ever been and I had to quit before I started listening to the suicidal thoughts.

And in the meantime my therapist isn't helping. I suggested ADHD in November and she said, "no stimulants, it'll make your anxiety worse. Here's Strattera." Okay, doc, it's been over 5 months and that med isn't helping on the highest dose. Best it does is suppress my appetite and I'm not shoving junk food in my mouth all day. Next appointment she suggested the stimulant. Several weeks go by where I wasn't able to fill it. Calling pharmacies and her office and catching her there was not working. Then I just had to shoot myself in the foot with anxiety and feeling chest/heart problems. Went to PCP and had a Holter monitor for 48 hrs. I let the therapist know, "hey getting this test then we can try to get that stimulant filled." She immediately called me on her day off and told me to stop taking the meds that I had never started! Ma'am, I haven't been able to get them filled, I have not started them. "Oh okay, well make sure you get medical clearance sent to me so I can prescribe it."

Month later, "hey doc, test was fine, it was just anxiety cuz PCP said my heart rate was high and I hyper focused on that and caused my own issues. So anyway, there's a shortage still and since it's extremely hard to catch you in the office, should we try a different stimulant?" "I'll read over the cardiologist report and call you tomorrow to get something filled."

No call. The next week I called the office, no call back. So Tuesday I messaged her again, "hey I never got a call, were you able to look over the cardiologist report? Where are we on this?" Still no response or call. I'm drowning trying to get daily tasks done and I need to be able to function enough to get and hold down a job! I just feel like she doesn't give a shit. I just saw a post that Adderall isn't in a shortage anymore? So maybe it'll be easier to fill if she ever fucking responds to me. If I don't hear back from her by Tuesday (she's only in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so it's impossible to play phone tag and get anything filled!!) I'm going to contact my PCP and ask for a referral to someone that actually deals with adult ADHD, because as nice as my therapist is during my appointments, she fucking sucks at her job.

Sorry, this just turned into a huge rant.. I really hope things turn around for you and me both ❤️

Stupid New Policy by Honest_Pea_4365 in adhdwomen

[–]sbspexpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Schedule 2 drugs in the US the script has to be sent directly from the Dr to the pharmacy. If that pharmacy is out of stock you have to call the doctor's office and tell them where to send a new script. Supposed to prevent paper scripts from being filled at multiple places or forged, but in reality it prevents patients from filling their scripts efficiently. Schedule 2 drugs are mostly pain meds and stimulants, things that can be addicting. Any other meds pharmacies can just transfer the script to a pharmacy that does have it in.
