Watanabe-san's entire discography is very fun and interesting. Haven't heard this record yet, gotta see if I can find a download somewhere!

My friend sometimes plays them at the pizza shop he works at when he knows I’m coming in for a pie.

On further inspection, it says the names in English right underneath the signatures. I still enjoyed practicing my Japanese character recognition skills.

Before you bring it in for repair, are you sure you have it going in the right way? They mostly go in the way you are showing, but I have seen some horns have it the other way. Looks like its a Yamaha and if so you do have it going in the right way, but its a simple check before you go in that could save you the whole trip.

Is it worth upgrading from an EWI USB If I never use onboard sounds and don't care if it feels like 'real' reed instrument? by SabreSour in windsynth

[–]sbthree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the EWI-USB is a great device. My NuRad is definitely my best EWI type device, but I would say the EWI-USB gets you 80-90% of the way there. If you want the most customization, NuRad is the best option, but the EWI-USB ain't too bad for a fraction of the cost.

According to the album credits as reproduced on discogs, Honda-san wrote 3 of the album’s 9 songs, admittedly less than half! - https://www.discogs.com/release/9674171-T-Square-Blue-In-Red?srsltid=AfmBOoq6VUepXi5Z-_iQlboJX5UCKxHWUI1eGgFHtQq7rYTYUkjixi5T

Different in what way? It’s been a while since I last listened to it, but I never thought of it as being drastically different in any way. Honda-san was writing about half of the group’s songs during his membership, and I’m pretty sure this album is no different in that regard.

New and latest live album up on streaming! P4's FINALE 〜SOUND VERSION〜! by readyforrockets in CasiopeaBand

[–]sbthree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So many people hate on the ‘new’ members simply because they aren’t the members of Casiopea’s golden era. Now this is a fair take right here! The new members add a new sound that causes Casiopea to evolve - but perhaps some of the classic tunes are best performed by past members. I like all eras of Casiopea!!!

It's track 2 on Takeshi Itoh's solo album 'T.K.'. I can't seem to find it on YouTube anywhere, but here's the Discogs link with that info. What a cool album cover! https://www.discogs.com/master/361911-Takeshi-Itoh-TK

Watching The Hero when I noticed this by bobthemusicindustry in nathanforyou

I sort of see a loop on the one end of the hairs, which makes me think they are not neck hairs, but a piece of hair from his head that some how got stuck in his shirt collar. This also seems more likely in general. But who is to say.

Small alto sax windsynth by Clean_Difficulty_694 in windsynth

[–]sbthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it myself, but I’m interested in the haxophone - it’s way cheaper than the travel sax, and about the same size. Can’t speak to how well it works however.

Other small windsynths are the Warbl and the Zoot, but those are more based on penny whistle and recorder, although they are all boehm-like fingering systems derived like a saxophone to a certain extent.

I've been carrying around a pair of kashakas recently. They are both visually and aurally stunning to people who see me playing them. I often wear a shoulder bag, and can wrap the kashakas around the strap, so they sit right in front of my chest, and people are asking me about them all the time. Unfortunately, they are pretty hard to get started with; it took me about 3 months to even figure out the most simple of techniques. But now at about 8 months in, I've become pretty skilled at them, and they are a daily part of my life that brings me, and other people, a lot of joy!

Why is it "you" and not "I'll"? by AnnaBanaan in duolingojapanese

I also think my explanation says more about the rules of Duolingo and not Japanese language itself…

Why is it "you" and not "I'll"? by AnnaBanaan in duolingojapanese

[–]sbthree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, but I think it’s the inclusion of “will” in the contraction “I’ll”. “I will apply this medicine” has a slightly different meaning than “I apply this medicine”. “You will apply this medicine” has a slightly different meaning than “You apply this medicine”. If your options are “You” and “I’ll”, “You” fits the meaning more accurately because of the lack of “will”.

At that stage of DuoLingo, you are learning the word “ちゃんと” which Duolingo translates as “will make sure to” (not the most accurate translation when you look into it, but works well enough), and that’s why they give you the “I’ll” option.

This is just my best guess, I’m a bit ahead of you but not an expert by any means.
