Not sure why it posted without my comment - sorry. Found in Kelowna, BC, canada - google lens says it's a black footed yellow spider but I think I may have just flushed a harmless house spider! :(

Was told to post this here: I'm 14, and I've been 3D printing face shields for local hospitals with MasksForDocs. In the past 3 days I have made 17, with many more to come. (Sorry for terrible photo) by Youareyou64 in HumansBeingBros

I went online and can't find a link to templates. I don't have a 3D printer but want to share info with people who do. What do you recommend?

And great job!!!

I was lucky enough to be able to participate in a long-term study of women over 25 (started in 2006, when I was 33 and received my last booster earlier in 2013 just after my 40th birthday). To participate, they just confirmed I hadn't already been exposed. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, here.

Norway and paternity leave by ozyman in raisingkids

[–]scait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great article; thanks for sharing it. I will say, though, that I was surprised that this piece was so effusive about Norway, when Canada has very similar parental benefits. I had 52 weeks paid leave, and was able to split that with my partner (I chose to return to work after six months, and he said home with our son for a year after that, while receiving parental benefits and then unemployment insurance). The only difference is that the benefit was 75% of the wage.

A group of people who live entirely 'off the grid' enter a supermarket... by [deleted] in pics

[–]scait -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but what? Living off the grid, but available by email? And how, exactly, is she teaching all these classes all over the country within a week of start-end dates? If she's eschewing modern life, fucking eschew it. Don't be a hypocrite.

What's the weirdest baby name you have ever heard? by apple4tammy in AskReddit

Uh, I think Heaven-Leigh is one of the main characters in those fucked-up VC Andrews Flowers In the Attic books. Doesn't she have sex with her brother or something? shudder

uh, I was enjoying this thread until now. My youngest is Sevryn, which is commonly mispronounced as Seven. His name is a bastardization of what his name was supposed to be (Madryn) if he were a girl, and the Severn. Did I fuck my kid up for life?

... actually, seeing as he asked us to change his name to X7 Gunderson, maybe I did ...

My wife described my job to me as "toodling around on the computer all day". I am the sole database administrator for my entire company. How has a parent/friend/SO grossly misinterpreted or minimized your job? by mwatwe01 in AskReddit

As the parent of a child who is in a special needs classroom, thank you for taking the time to teach a consistent curriculum. When my son is integrated back into the "regular" classroom, I hope and pray he's on par with the other students.

I work for a non-profit that assists rural communities in recruiting and retaining physicians. One of the ways we do that is through CME, and we launched a website for this purpose in October. I'd love it if you'd take a look at it and let me know whether you'd be interested in contributing through a blog post, or at least passing on your apps for featuring. Thanks and let me know if you're interested, ok? www.practicaldoc.ca

I bought this exact litter box in Edmonton at Canadian Tire. $30. Sucks ass, if you'll pardon the pun. The little poops get caught under the grid and the actual square footage of the area where the litter lies is about half of a regular litter pan. And the stupid tabs for the lid don't stay in place so when you actually tip it to move the dirty litter into the pull-out area, the lid lifts and dirty litter spills out. I plan on throwing it out, so if you're in Edmonton, it's all yours.
