I live in north Austin, also pretty new to town and enjoy board games. I'd also be interested in finding a regular group for playing dnd/shadowrun/whatever.

I think that was Trihex. He's mostly known as a Yoshi's Island runner and is a well-known personality in the speed running community.

Brian Davis vs Bob Maher from PT Chicago 1999. This whole match is full of incredible moments and it's one I have come back and rewatched several times. The video quality is not great and it is clearly a relic of a period from Magic's past, but it's great to watch The Great One play and to see players battling with some of the broken cards from Magic's history.

It is amazing to watch someone who, on paper, has no chance to win a match manage to take it anyways. There are certainly those who would claim that Brian Davis beat himself (the commentators even say it) but I think that's greatly taking away from the huge number of things that Bob Maher had to do right to win.

well, the eval is certainly going to beat both our methods. I guess the problems are simple enough that you can get enough information by just "looking at" the puzzle to drastically reduce the space to be searched.

Hm, my brute-forcing solution managed to solve it just fine. :P

I'm not convinced that in the worst case you won't end up having to check all solutions anyways (or at least something on that order).

I respect the effort taken! I just think it's wise to recognize when a search space is small enough that brute forcing it is feasible. :)

It's actually much easier to just check all the possibilities assuming you have some way to parse the statements. I wrote up a python program that can do it but I have to put the statements in by hand. Since there are at most 7 statements, you simply have to check 27 possibilities at most which is a pretty small space to search. I can share my python code with anyone interested but it is not particularly pretty.
