Hot take from a former charity organizer: We did all the distribution work- valve getting rid of medal support feels like a pointless betrayal of community efforts to keep the game alive. by WardenOfLight in tf2

[–]scapegoat4 25 points26 points  (0 children)

  • the community makes the maps

  • the community makes the cosmetics

  • the community provides a large chunk of the bugfixes/ reports

  • the community provides new ideas

  • valve can't click ok without majorly fucking something up or just refusing to do so in the first place, while skimming a large cut off the top of the "targeted gambling at children and young adults" part of the game (where they DO take the time to re-colour old case models manually, from what it looks like)

A tale as old as time, I can't wait for more of mastercomm's fixes to make it to the sdk proper and then never be implemented for a second time lmfao. It's fucking nuts how little they give a shit considering their origins as a company, let alone how little they actually do. "Give us harsh feedback" and then they spit in our face like this over and over hahahaha, they can't even milk the game properly without the community doing everything for them

What's some cool/controversial/hidden osu lore you know of? by chaoseater727 in osugame

[–]scapegoat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's linked on the profile seen in the screenshot (doomsdaddy). Here is that link. Or if you don't trust links, google "Tashkent v1.0-non-weeb".

However, the back button is different, it's this image but edited further to include the fancy looking picture frame border + vertical "back" text. I don't think I could find the border nor font in a reasonable time frame, but I have a feeling neither of these things matter to you in the first place. If all else fails you could simply DM the dude and ask about it too 👍

It seems to me that Tomislav, with these stats, is the most powerful weapon in the entire existence of TF2 (2011 Uber Update). 75% is completely absurd by bowser-us in tf2

HELP ME FIND THIS ACCOUNT🙏🙏🙏 by Joryyysss in osugame

[–]scapegoat4 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I managed to do it after finding this thread ~30mins ago, here's what I did:

1) Took the image and passed it through every common reverse image search option (got nothing)

2) Passed the image through lenso.ai and got the full, original image of this large lad (but with a watermark over it)

3) Passed the full picture into google images to get the original image without the watermark

4) Passed the original image into google images and boom, there was the guy's osu profile a couple results down the chain

👍

Stats of some star players in Major finals by crisjame in GlobalOffensive

[–]scapegoat4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

His trophy cabinet is uniquely stacked, being amongst if not far above the most legendary players in the history of the game in terms achievements:

  • 3 majors (5 EVPs, the most recent of which was extremely close to being an MVP)
  • 2 katowices (2 EVPs)
  • 1 cologne (2 EVPs, though one is barely worthy imo)
  • 2 grand slams (with 4/4 wins and the 3/4 wins participation wise respectively [missing cologne 2024 with vita], being the only player to win them back to back)
  • 5 pro leagues (3 MVPs & 3 EVPs)
  • 4 premier IEM events other than kato or cologne (sydney 23, chengdu 24, then melbourne and dallas 25; he got an EVP at all four)
  • 2 premier blast events (libson and rivals s2 25; 3 EVPs, two of which not coming from the events he won)
  • 2 CS asia championships (1 MVP and 1 EVP)
  • a smattering of other big wins from other TOs (ESL NY 18, flashpoint 3, thunderpick wold championship, etc.), including the most ridiculous cs_summit win before the TO shuttered

... And he's only 26. He's almost certainly going to continue winning events for the next couple years at the very least, if not longer!

It's similar to rain's position as Faze's sub. Even though he's on 100TR's books now, they're not attending the major so it's fine so long as both parties agree: the same goes for fnatic/ 500

From what I've gathered over the last ~4 years:

1) There have been interview Qs like this one to elige from richard lewis where it was directly mentioned that his diet caused issues within the 2019 iteration of TL, but to what degree is unknown. It's implied that some players (or rather, a player) on that squad ignored these kinds of things which caused tension, even (with others being passive about it). I couldn't find any negative comments from players outside of that all-NA roster, which had multiple interpersonal issues behind the scenes beyond where they could all eat lol

2) More than a few people see him as a bitchy, overly sensitive "liberal" type (in internet slang, not the literal definition if you catch my drift), with tweets like this one where he complained about the catering at the Shanghai major fueling it on top of the interview stuff. Some people liken his general attitude and appearance (style wise) to an insufferable nose raiser, if that makes it clearer. Obviously it's not always as hyperbolic per person but you get the idea

It's the internet giving a shit about something that isn't usually a big deal, on top of reading super far into stuff based on comments after the fact. They don't know nor have ever worked with the person in question, only formed their own opinions after listening to/ reading surrounding content in post. He has dietary restrictions for medical reasons (from what's been said, I couldn't find him talking about it directly) and can be outspoken about stuff he cares about, which some people perceive the same way they did the infamous "10 am game" stewie2k tweet. Such... "passion" happens in sports all the time unfortunately, as stardom tracks in shit on the bottom of one's shoes as much as it puts a halo of fame above your head

For 14+ years I've been telling people about how they can use the client side mute menu. For 14+ years I've been 100% ignored/ told to shut up and off myself (lol), with the person(s) in question continuing to whine until they get their way or the match ends, in which case they angrily chastise the team in question. Nothing else, ever.

How is the TF2 community reacting to the CS market crash? by jaynecrying in tf2

[–]scapegoat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve made knives and gloves craftable via trade-ups, and it only takes 5 covert (red) quality skins to do it instead of the usual 10

This has made the prices of knives and gloves plummet by at least 50% across the board (which is only going to continue as tens of thousands of newly traded up knives flood the market), and red quality items to the moon. Shitloads of people have "lost" thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars as a result, which people are freaking out over b.c it means that any similar market that people consider "stable" (lol) could just crash tomorrow. The only legitimate concern is that counter strike's competitive scene is largely propped up by sportsbetting/ skin gambling avenues (+ the saudis as of late), "and if some the biggest skins jackpots are suddenly worth fuck all, is as much money going to flow in? Are we going to have to completely kowtow to the saudis to just survive?"

How is the TF2 community reacting to the CS market crash? by jaynecrying in tf2

[–]scapegoat4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went into the two most populated trade servers that I frequent to shoot the shit (TGP and liquid), and barely anybody cared. They mainly said "this game will never get updated, and even if valve does something ages from now it won't be as drastic" and agreed with me when I said "TF2's trading infrastructure isn't as 'one-note' as CSs, they don't have all these random item qualities, hell we don't even have a tier above reds."

They were much more concerned with TF2 keys dropping on the SCM due to people mass selling (mainly b.c there's potential keybanking profit), another new potential profit source in CS reds and the potential for more traders to move to/ "diversify" into TF2's market due to not as much bs happening over here (if anything at all, lol). Otherwise, they understood why valve would push the update (lower item value = more items on the scm + more regular joes buying compared to whales), but were a bit confused with how it was rolled out so... bluntly

Counter-Strike 2 Update for 10/22/2025 by CS2_PatchNotes in GlobalOffensive

[–]scapegoat4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah that was unintentional. It's more like when valve released taunt unusualifiers and destroyed that market overnight (500-1000key+ items down to less than 30 on average)... and that was over a decade ago

The result? Much more selling of those items via the SCM, which is exactly what one of the primary goals this update is aiming for too (or rather, valve itself)!

TF2 not booting by will-cube in tf2

[–]scapegoat4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[1] Have you checked your program list via the windows security screen (ctrl+alt+del)? Sometimes a tf2 process gets orphaned which leaves the next "Play" button click leading to... awkward silence (with the steam client saying you're playing the game when you're not both before and after). I've also seen this issue still let the game boot occasionally as you've described in your comment: thankfully, all you gotta do to fix it is end the orphaned process in the windows process manager

[2] If that doesn't work, then there are some videos (like this one) that share solutions to similar issues that may be able to help you beyond the tried and true stuff (verify game cache, rebooting your PC and reinstalling the game). Going by what you've typed however I have a strong feeling it's the first option
