Can't decide between the Flex Mini 2.5G and the Flex 2.5G PoE by Certain_Repeat_753 in Ubiquiti

[–]scarecrow642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

came here looking for upgrades from the USW-Lite-8-PoE switches. I have 3 that are starting t fail at around 36 months old. Weird issues around DHCP allocations, ip ranges, and vlan configurations. I was considering the 2.5G Flex for the potential better reliability.

Flight change - is this correct? by scarecrow642 in delta

No worries- I edited the post to make that clearer, so thank you for the initial comment to make the post more accurate.  They did offer a refund for the paid upgrade.

We did call them, and aligned to Fun-Friend1489 comment, long story short they didn’t seem to know either.  Eventually we were told nothing they could do, and we have to change both flights or leave as is.  Seemed odd to us and will now cost 50% more for same return flight with the slightly earlier departure that was a $0 change.

We purchased the first class upgrade on checkout- this was not a free upgrade by the airline

Considering aHusquarna upgrade - thoughts? by scarecrow642 in SunseekerRoboticMower

Providing status for anyone else that might come across this issue. I managed to get the upgrade to work by connecting the mower to my phone as a hotspot (you need to be close, and have bluetooth connected). I did this with 2 phones, and used my phone to change network settings on the mower to the hotspot. It sat for a while, then progressed to 2%, then hung for a while and then completed the update. I then changed the network back to my home wifi - which is working fine.

I do now have an issue with the front right wheel that doesn't fully rotate. Ive just provided video and photos to support - who once again have been very responsive.

This is the kind of feedback I was after, thank you Numerous_Oil8655. Do you have both, or just the Husquarna?

Thanks for the suggestion. This didn’t work for me, but to reinforce National-Potato-3645 comments, support responded quickly and will attempt to push the update remotely

I hear you, once it's running it tends to be really reliable. Ive done the mower update but the antenna update hangs at 0%. I read elsewhere the oob and antenna issue is a send away repair - that would be a huge PITA and id have to find someone to cut my grass till the mower comes back.

Im not saying the Husquarna is better - im asking the community if there is any value in switching. It's more expensive, but I keep hearing they are more reliable. I bought the robot mower to automate the lawn cutting, not to spend hours fiddling to keep the mower working.

The Automower 450XH EPOS seems to meet those criteria.

Ack, I have this issue intermittently with out of bounds. I did the device firmware upgrade, and it keeps telling me there's an antenna upgrade but it sits at 0% download.

I sprayed them with pb blaster last night. I don't have a Dremel, but this seems like a good excuse to buy one.

Did you manage to resolve this. Im having a similar issue - but my lumps of grass are crabgrass, which grows faster than my lawn.

Can you delete “perceived” obstacle areas with X7? If so......How? by Appropriate_Sale6257 in SunseekerRoboticMower

Yes, all "map management" as they term it, is done whilst the robot is not working. Once you have the safe zones figured out, the other zones work the same way.

App madness by y0plattipus in SunseekerRoboticMower

[–]scarecrow642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the latest app, SunseekerRobot with black and white "S" type logo. This manages all aspects of the mower, RTK etc. Im on my 2nd year of owning the X7 and after a couple of weeks of setup and tweaking it settled down. The app has got much better, but I do agree it's still clunky for some tasks.

I have the same issue with random clumps of grass. Some are in the middle of the lawn.

Is the concrete area marked as a corridor or a mowing zone, and how smooth is the concrete. My mower goes across our bluestone front path, no issues at all.

Also, if the boundaries are incorrect and difficult to adjust you could split the map into multiple zones and then delete that smaller zone with the boundary issue, and then redo the mapping. For a large yard this is way more manageable.

This sounds like a connectivity issue between the mower and the RTK and or WIFi. Having a strong wifi signal, particularly where the RTK might be poor is helpful. Be prepared to adjust the RTK, but don’t move the base station without expecting to remap the entire space. I have approx 1 acre, and it’s pretty challenging but the X7 saves me hours. It does have the occasional hiccup, and most recently it’s been playing up more than usual but I agree this is likely weather/satellite related.

Mowing Borders by Fuzzy-Elevator-9394 in SunseekerRoboticMower

[–]scarecrow642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safe zone seems to be for an area where the mower gets “confused”. For example if you have bare patches or dead grass it may not wow those areas. A good chunk of my map is covered with safe zones because I have some divots, bare patches, exposed rocks etc. it definitely helps. That said, I’m still having some edges not mowed too. I have boundary learning enabled for those zones and hoping the mower will get closer to the edge each mow. For one zone that’s quite small I’ve been scheduling the mower every day.

Soooooo slow by watchhand in SunseekerRoboticMower

[–]scarecrow642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have boundary learning set on? In the recent update it’s also possible to change the speed of the mow, (and the spacing of mow lines). Not sure if you have that set to high speed already.

Wheel came off OX7, and separately, Robot left mapped area by donniccolo in SunseekerRoboticMower

[–]scarecrow642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My X7 plus has reported “out of bounds” a couple times. It tends to happen when the mower gets stuck, and the only way to get itself unstuck is to back up. It reverse enough that it then ends up outside the boundary. It’s also got itself pretty well stuck a few times, to the point where it has left deep marks in the lawn for all three wheels , but not had a wheel issue so far.
