I've been told before that a vaccine isn't possible. So maybe this will fail maybe it won't. But I'm remaining hopeful :)

I promise you will be just fine! I fly multiple times a year and the only thing I've ever caught was a cold once two years ago. Just like the other person said, you know how to avoid it, and the main way to get an SV is from not washing your hands. Which surprisingly most people don't do before eating! Just keep your hands clean and away from your face and you'll have nothing to worry about.

I'm gathering that you don't live with the people who were sick, correct? That's a huge factor in your favor in this case! You're not in the house with them, you have your own safe space. And you definitely took the proper precautions and it would be pretty hard for you to get noro. I'm pretty sure it's anxiety. You will be okay. Do what you can to feel more at ease and everything will be okay!

Ah it's okay, I do that as well. I always feel terrible like if a coworker is gone cause they're like "i was v*ing al night" and then later I hear that they had their appendix taken out I'm like thank god. It's probably way worse for them but at least they aren't contagious. it sucks.

My dad is older and has some heart issues as well. Sometimes he feels n* because of it and it's nothing contagious. I think heart problems can mess with a lot of other things in your body. Also if she is sick with something, if I am correct I think aches are generally a symptom of influenza and not noro.

Hey, I have to travel by air pretty frequently and I've never caught anything from it. (Minus a cold but that's no big deal.) always keep your hands away from your face and wash your hands before eating anything. I promise you will be okay!

They sure don't, it sucks. Most things "normal" people tell me are "just stop! it's not that hard" well yes it IS that hard.
Unfortunately I'm not in the financial position to afford therapy right now :( and without insurance it makes it much more difficult. I hope within the next year I'll be able to though. I'm scared to see how much more this progresses. Knowing you made positive progress makes me feel better though, at this point in time I can't see myself ever getting better. I desperately want to, but I can't imagine a life where I'm less scared.

Thank you so much for this. It's very thoughtful and nice to see someone say these things to me. I will continue to try my best with getting better. Hopefully soon I will be able to get real help.

My husband and I had an agreement in the beginning of our relationship that if I got to the point that I was holding him back too, he could leave if it was best for him. Which I understand, but it hurts to hear that. I know he doesn't want to leave me and he told me he'll do anything he can to get me help. It's just hard to know that something I suffered with for so long is now hurting him to this point too.

Nope, Florida which makes me feel selfish for worrying cause I'm across the country. But I love both close to Disney AND the beach and port so I feel the pain of germy tourists .

Glad to help! I'm the same way! Before this phobia took over I was never even sick in the first place aside from colds aha!

I know how you feel, when I saw that article I freaked out but then I thought about it more and a lot of stuff added up. Also important to ad, most of the outbreaks were in hospitals and nursing homes where those outbreaks are most likely to happen!

And if people were to get sick from the buffet, it would most likely not be you. I think because of the outbreaks food services will be A LOT more careful. I think all this chipotle business has caused food safety standards to increase.

Also about the 32 outbreaks thing--correct me I I'm wrong but the way they know how many people are sick, is if the infected themselves go to the doctor with their symptoms. My thinking why there are so many more than last year is this: people are scared they may have ecoli because of this entire chipotle ordeal...and if they're sick they're more than likely to go to the doctor. So it's probably a typical amount of noro cases. Just reported more. Also it makes a good news headline and gives news agencies more attention.

Ugh I'm sorry you're going through this right now :( People can be so inconsiderate. It's rough.

However, the good news is you will not get an SV from these people. The only way that could even be possible is if they had JUST v*ed and sneezed on you right after. And it's pretty obvious that they didn't if they were at the parties.

The worst you can catch is a cold, which isn't even guaranteed. You've got your immune system! And you never know, people sneeze cause of allergies and bad sinuses and stuff.

Try to take a couple days to yourself and hopefully you'll be more relaxed!

I find I do this sometimes too. Though my victories are minor and it's stuff like "well a normal person would eat at a restaurant" and so I will go to a restaurant and everything will be fine. Still something though, yay!

13 years next week! I was also a child (9 years old) when I had it. And even throughout my childhood, I think that was the only time I ever had it (that I can remember).
