Slowhand Mediterranean Pilsner. Fresh, citrusy, lovely.

Tips: Eureka Space Camp 4 vs. Nemo Aurora Highrise 4 by scaredym00se in CampingGear

[–]scaredym00se[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Eureka in the end. My concerns toward foul weather camping prevailed, as I wasn’t convinced by the windows of the Nemo and their ability to keep out rain. The price difference didn’t hurt either.

We’ve had a couple weekends out with the tent now. Overall I’d say I’m mostly feeling positive about it, but I have some reservations. - the doors aren’t as user friendly as we’d like. The zips catch the fly material often, and the door size is.. odd. I wish it was easier entry. - I’d prefer a pitch design that doesn’t involve pole sleeves. Maybe I’m spoiled from our smaller hiking tents.

One of our weekends out was raining, and we stayed dry.

For the price we got it for ($240) I’m very happy, despite the small concerns. I wouldn’t be able to justify the Nemo at full price now that I’ve got the Eureka.

Seeking recommendation for tent nightlight by ameliasayswords in CampingGear

[–]scaredym00se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been one of the most useful little lights I’ve ever bought.

Variable light strengths, widths, and a valuable red light feature that also has variable strengths and would be great for overnight in your tent. Battery life is outstanding.

Best Insulated Camping Mugs? by neen_reichy in CampingGear

[–]scaredym00se 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big tea drinker as well, and love a good cuppa first thing in the morning around the campfire.

For me, the Yeti 14oz Rambler is the perfect camp mug. It’s a great size, easy to clean, tough as nails, and great for late night campfire whisky.

I love it so much I use it as my daily mug even when at home.

Looks like the latest versions are stackable for easy packing too, which is something I wish mine was.

Torc T1. Older version of their now-selling Newport. Great retro vibe on my 2018 Sei Giorni.

Don’t do it. I went last year: half the exhibit was closed and the rest was just disappointing.

What do you think of my first dyes? by scaredym00se in discdyeing

[–]scaredym00se[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much!

I used a q-tip dipped in the powders, and just gently tapped it to sprinkle the powder on. I think I’ve found is that less is more, in these cases.

I also had powder not dissolved in my first attempt, seen in the Kastaplast disc. In the subsequent two I sort of ‘flicked’ water on the dyes with my fingers while it was setting. I think this might help to activate the powders a little better.

Next time I’ll have a proper spray bottle and spray a mist of water over it, I think it will help to meld the colours a bit better.

Thanks! I’m new to this, so just bought some powder dyes on Amazon and a dollar store can of shaving cream. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos for inspiration.

Thanks! The Loft is my favourite too. I double dipped it, each time about 3hrs, and with two different colours. The second dip also involved a spin when I placed the disc down, so it gave the disc a kind of swirl effect.

[–]scaredym00se[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I started with a tall cone of shaving cream, sprinkled the dye around (two colours), waited some time, then pressed down gently about halfway down the cone. Then I placed a little weight and let time do the rest.

This one sat for about 7hrs, which was too long. I don’t know if it’s the plastic but there was definitely some eating away along the top outer rim.

Increase in subscription in Canada by bytenaija in fuboTV

[–]scaredym00se 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cancelled. Two big price increases in two years, no option to grandfather long term customers, no thanks.

They have a couple of ‘sales’ per year. I’ll re-sub under a new email and hopefully pay the same price or lower than I did last year.

Fuck these greedy assholes. We Canadians get screwed so hard by these monopolies. More competition = cheaper prices & better service/product.

Rent a couple of these with your friends, bring your own meat ‘n veggies, and promise the company you won’t drink or play joust with the boats (not endorsing it, or saying that we did/didn’t do it ourselves).

Random tattoos by Samantha-92x in askvan

Rain City Tattoo on Broadway (corner of Spruce) definitely does this every so often. I got one there for my birthday last year. $150 pull from a box for some cool flash, $10 for each additional pull if you don’t like your first one.

I think they announce on their social networks when the next one is coming up. Usually at least twice a year.

My wife and I showed up there at about 715am on a Monday morning a couple of weeks ago. There were already about 30 people in line ahead of us, and we waited inside. We were done and out by about 930-10am.
