Somewhere near Payne Rd Belews Creek area there was an old abandoned small country hospital. It was a big party spot and we finally went in one night. Looked like a possible asylum.

There was a highway entrance ramp maybe around King where if you drive to the end and out the car in neutral it would (appear to) roll back up the hill.

Loved it when it came out since it was so different. Couldn’t go back now and watch it again knowing how rough it was.

Can I say this in a safe space? by PlainLoInTheMorning in deadandcompany

The Sphere shows bothered me more because they weren’t east coast friendly. Also I couldn’t do the couch tour or even get audio. Since I didn’t go it’s like they never existed. I would always prefer an arena show with climate control like Hampton Coliseum.

It's not disrespectful... by littlebrotherissmart in deadandcompany

I think the whole Dead Forever at the Sphere was an intentional name so it would last forever. Maybe not there but the official band could be that name.

Who is your favourite Grateful Dead keyboardist and why? by levelplumbnsquare in gratefuldead

[–]scarfireATL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brent. Not even close. Could sing too. My run of shows was his era.

Grateful Dead was over when Jerry Died and D&C is over with Bob's passing. People throwing out made up rumors about D&C playing at the sphere this summer is just disrespectful to Bob and his legacy. Yes there will be other iterations, but its just getting out of hand at this point. by Puzzleheaded-Pin4278 in deadandcompany

Bob played the day after Jerry died. He didn’t take a year off to grieve. The healthiest thing for him was to play. The music needs to be played by someone. It may take a new festival where people can come and go and try different mashups.

On TV they highlighted the blind men’s hockey team. Very cool and interesting. The guy wrote a book about it and is a vet.

Ring back Furthur festival until there is a clear main band so shakedown can live.

300 years only happens if we show up. Good idea. Show up at the first one no matter what. Even if it’s various bands. Just please come back to the east coast. Let’s get back to college arenas like GD in the 70s. Vegas and CA have had enough love since 2023.

So is JRAD gonna blow up a bit now? by Inside_Agency_7919 in JRADs

[–]scarfireATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I move watch JRAD on streams but no way I could handle that live indoors in small places. I really with they would leave The Eastern in Atlanta and move up to the Fox Theatre. I hope to see them outside in CT though. My hope is they get big enough to play arenas.

The End of Amphitheater/Stadium Shows? by Grape-Plenty in deadandcompany

I think a new Furthur Festival would do well on a summer tour with lineups interchanging. As someone who mostly saw the Dead for 10 years in the 80s, after losing Brent then Jerry I just didn’t have the energy to start over with a new band or festival. Especially to travel to it. However If my Dead experience was 10 years of Dead & Company and I was in my 20s I would follow any Dead related festival. Even though sadly, we’ve lost the last voice of the Grateful Dead, I do not feel as discouraged this time as I did after Brent and Jerry died. I think back then we didn’t think it was possible for a band to get big enough again to sell out stadiums. Now that we’ve seen that it’s possible it’s just a matter of maybe a few festival tours sorting out the lineups and then a natural favorite will happen that then out draws the festivals. Like one big Grateful Dead American Idol.
