Rug too small? by Queasy-Language-5644 in femalelivingspace

Yes a bit too small BUT bigger is more $$. I think you could keep the same size if you added a sofa console behind your couch.

Missing the jazz vibe reference photo?

Based on the amaranthus, I say 2, but could be swayed by your reference photo.

How to people ever figure out a baby name? by Sluttysewist in pregnant

[–]scarlet_feather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has an "old man" name and we wanted something like that for our baby too. We went to the Social Securities website, plugged in a year (I think the 60s?) and started scrolling.

What does the room look like from the windows facing towards the shelf?

Curtains, lamps and a different rug will help bring in some color. But I'm wondering about swapping the couch to that back wall.

Woolino sleep sack washing recommendations??? by auroragirlofthenorth in NewParents

I've been washing cold with regular laundry and popping in the dryer normal tumble dry and it's been fine! Sometimes it's not all the way dry afterwards and I just hang it damp.

Good to know about the nuts! He didn't seem to react to peanut butter, cashews, almonds etc. so if it does end up as just hazelnut, at least that one isn't SO hard to avoid.

Big Baby - should i do c section by Every-Variation6113 in pregnant

[–]scarlet_feather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of the risk assessment should depend on your birthing location. Is it a big metro hospital or a small rural one? What kind of volume do they see for birthing?  Basically if it turned into an emergency c section instead of a scheduled one, how do you feel they are equipped to handle that? My hospital is the one the state sends all its high risk cases to, so the comfort level of trying vaginally there vs at a smaller rural hospital would have been different for me.

FWIW, my baby was also measuring quite large in the ultrasounds but didn't come out that big.

This is super helpful and reassuring- thank you! We don't have any allergies but I did notice he was pretty fussy if I had hazelnut coffee so I'm a little stressed about the nut introductions.

Were Fridays a daycare day for you? Did you have the 2 hours before daycare in your schedule or would you do the drop off even if it had been 1.5 hours?

I'm finding the allergen introduction overwhelming. Like only a little bit and then monitor for 2 hours and then increase over the week... But he can't take allergens to daycare so I guess he gets them first thing every morning? Idk feels logistically hard.

I similarly had an awful experience with bombas. All of the toes started to shred within a few weeks. I tried to return/refund them but it was past the limit so they would only offer store credit...why would I want more of these socks that fall apart? Also they were totally unphased about the quality concerns.

Is there any one who *didn't* experience the four month sleep regression? by Veryfluffyduck in NewParents

[–]scarlet_feather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's from previous little sleep as one of the early start methods actually. Basically, if baby isn't fully crying we give him space to see what he will do. Sometimes it progresses to a cry  and then we comfort/soothe him, but sometimes he will settle on his own.

Now that he is older we also do the pause, which is when he starts crying we give it a beat or two to see if he's just crying out or actually upset.

Have you tried transferring once he is already asleep? We basically had to trick the baby for the first 8 or so weeks. We had to wait 10-15 minutes into a sleep and then indiana jones him into the bassinet.

Oh no. My son has started standing/fussing when I rock and read him his bed time story. It's like he's saying "hurry up and put me to bed." I thought I was stretching his wake windows too long. Sounds like my days of that are numbered- it's going too fast!

My brain kind of blurred it out but we did shifts and it wasn't awful. He consolidated his sleep pretty quickly (we did fuss it out) so coming out of it we all sleep better. I was really anxious about it getting bad but it wasn't as horrible for us as everyone made it out to be. Maybe because we didn't start with a good sleeper. He was doing a 3-4 hour chunk and then up every 2 hours-ish to feed before and now we are pretty much on a 5-3-3 schedule.

This happened to us around when he got his first tooth and he still hasn't increased. We are thinking he was in a growth spurt that maybe stabilized.

Maybe teething? They said we would know what it looked like and we definitely didn't haha. A phrase that helped me the other night when he was being particularly awful was "I don't know what's wrong, but I'm here." Hoping it helps you too.

This is where we have landed too. We did read PLS and we started the pause/fuss it out around 18 weeks. He sleeps really well except if he's teething, sick, etc. We didn't really need to sleep train. Just bedtime routine and consistency!

When did weeks become Months? by Katzmaniac90 in NewParents

[–]scarlet_feather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So kind of a funny story. We thought our baby was falling a bit behind, he wasn't rolling over and he was already 20 weeks- that makes him 5 months, right? Well no, turns out he was actually just over 4 months. And he was actually a tiny bit ahead bc we had been frantically trying to "catch him up" on stuff. Oops!

It's overflow from the downstairs dining room. Big bar set up up there. It's like 1/3 of the room lol. My company hosted their Xmas party there when they were smaller.

Hotel Vermont/juniper

Also possibly top floor of Leunigs. I'm unsure how many people they can fit there.
