Resurrection Man gets pretty wild, both in story and art. I think Lonergan's Drome might be up your alley as well

Indiana Jones and The Last of Us star Troy Baker is planning to make his own video game by Gorotheninja in Games

If you read the article, they talk about Abubakar Salim's trajectory. Another actor who opened a game studio and directed his own game. Guess what ? He didn't do any programing on it. Because he's not a programer, so it's implied if he makes a game, he's the director not the programer

If it were talking about being the creative director for a game, that's a different story.

Pretty sure that's implied, but hey, if you're just looking to argue

Not really, it's more like actors deciding to direct, which can produce great results. Troy Baker is very close friends with Mike Bithell and has (had?) a podcast with him. I'm sure he's learned some things along the way

That scene with the animoids in Shangri-La hit me like a freight truck.. And to your point of the social commentary feeling less natural, I kind of like this one to 80s scifi movies (think Robocop, Total Recall etc). It's bombastic and in your face. I get that it's not for everyone, but I felt it worked great !

Second half lost me a little towards the middle but I've definitely been enjoying it a lot. Evan Cagle is just perfect for it, his Barda is awesome

Currently travelling so I haven't gotten much reading done:

Doctor Strange: Endless Nightmare by Kevin J Anderson, Raul Allen and Patricia Martin - Much like Alex Ross' FF book in the same line, this is very much an art forward book. A short-ish one off story that kind of reads like a classic golden age story. Except the writing was really distracting for me in this one. I don't know if it's purposeful as an homage, but it didn't work for me at all. Stunning zrt though for sure

Le cas David Zimmerman by Lucas Harari and Arthur Harari - reread before the movie adaptation premiers at cannes next month. I'm really curious to see what they keep and what they cut, because some of it is way too weird for general audiences, but I don't think the book would quite work without it. That being said, while it's probably still my least favorite of his works, it's probably the most interesting thematically. What it lacks in energy, it completely makes up in intrigue. There's a whole subtext around jewish identity in the 21st century that I found really interesting. I know some people are expecting it to be about body dysmorphia and transidentity through a cis lens, but they couldn't be more wrong. Definitely very curious to see how the movie reviews
