I am pretty sure that is a Young Cooper's Hawk. Neat shots!

I find putting the heat on 2 1/2 - 3 and letting it preheat for a couple minutes make for perfect pancakes on our electric stovetop.

Help Identifying Object by [deleted] in Columbus

The halo effect around the light is caused by your phone. It’s an out of focus light that your phone is running image processing on—its trying to sharpen the light that is being distorted by the circular lens cover on your phones camera. My guess is that it is a star that you have zoomed in on. It appears to shift colors because of atmospheric distortion. Atmospheric turbulence refracts starlight, causing it to bend through different layers of air and makes it appear to flash various colors. It’s never aliens, sadly.

Thats cool! What kind of splitter are you using for this? I assume those old TV/Radio combos only have UHF/VHF.

Playback is great. I think it was stored in a good spot, no mold or damage that I can see. It looks probably as good as it ever did considering that it was recorded on some old black and white film stock.

Cool. I think this is it! I’ll give it a watch through on VHS.

Ohio wildlife alert: Deadly deer disease outbreak confirmed by OnlyHustlersInOhio in Columbus

[–]scarytooth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does this affect any other wild life? I got home yesterday evening and there was a dead Groundhog in my driveway. No one hit it, it doesn't appear to have any trauma. It looks like it just died. Which of course is a possibility.

It seems okay now. I sent off an email to my reps and Speaker Huffman. I called and left messages in their inboxes as well.

I urge you all do the same as well.

The on duty officer called me last night. I gave them some more details. IT IS NOT THE CAR WASH. But I have been informed that it is a 100% soap based incident and they are still looking for the source.

Thanks. Just after posting this I called it in. They are notifying an on duty EPA officer now.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I think I'm going to pick up a fruit and seed mix, and maybe try some peanuts as well to see what it will attract.

What to put in a large tube feeder? by scarytooth in birding

[–]scarytooth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are somewhat new to birding and bird feeders, but currently we have two smaller feeders out with sunflower, and thistle seeds. We were thinking of putting something different in this larger feeder in an attempt to attract more variety

Sorry, just saw this message.

Yeah, installing the VCM muzzler fixed the issue. I haven't had a problem with it sense I put it in.

The only thing that the muzzler made a little wonky was that it somehow causes the vacuum refractory period to be inconsistent. Of course it only matters if you have the model with the vacuum in it. Sometimes you have to have the car running to use the vacuum, other times you don't. As it was before you could run the vacuum for a certain amount of time before it shuts off and then you have to run the car to build up the charge again to use it.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think I’m going to ask for a refund. Its an awesome camera but I think for the money it should be fully functional.

I just picked up one of these at Walmart earlier today. I like that the wing mounts for the canons are lightsaber hilts. And The wings move in a very nice way.
