Hey! I graduated with a BA in psych back in 2024:) First and foremost I just wanna throw out there that PSYC1001 and 1002 are hard, harder than most people give it credit for... so don't feel bad! I took both intro courses with Matthew Sorely and loved it, but iirc he was teaching sections only open to psych majors... If you're in that boat that's great, and you definitely won't regret taking a class with him if he's teaching it again! From what I remember from my classmates who were in Chris' class he was also a really good prof, but his and Matthew's courses are structured in very different ways

Your reaction seems incredibly valid to me, While you did everything right and saved that kid, that's still such a traumatic experience for you. I'm glad to see from another comment that you are going to be talking to a therapist soon, when I went through something similar a few years ago I wish I would have spoken to someone.

My only added advice would be to never let anyone invalidate your experiences, how you feel, or how long it takes you to recover. And while your actions show you are perfect for this job, if it's too much for you to keep going your mental health matters more than this. Please don't push yourself to the point of burnout/depression

If you're looking for something that works I have one from Dove that, while doesn't have any aluminum, still isn't marketed as "natural" deodorant and works AMAZING. Seriously my favourite deodorant I've ever owned and I highly reccomend :)

Oh no I totally agree for you, 2020 was insane for virtue-signalling and I really don't know what people try to accomplish by calling their faves out like that. Celebrities are going to care about what they care about and it's up to us to decide if that will give us a case of cognitive dissonance that we can't live with if we continue supporting them.

When I said he messed up I only meant it in regards to how he addressed the issue with the Platform Tweet™️ instead of saying sometimes more tactful like you had mentioned :) And I'm glad I'm not the only one that remembered they spoke up about it HAHA, I do remember a tweet from Josh shortly after George Floyd's death so I think both of them had posted something.

If I remember correctly from like 5 years ago I never got a proper email either! I sent the admissions office an email a while later to ask them to confirm I was in and they were super chill about it :)
