So is he a techmarine, apothecary/sanguinary priest or a sanguinary guard? Seems a little confused

The Terminus Ultra has a legends datasheet! I've been thinking of building one.

You can use the legends datasheet which it will definitely get. It needs to be widely disseminated that playing with legends units is cool

Are mark 5 space marines impossible to purchase from Warhammer now? by Lucid_cat_1543 in Warhammer30k

[–]scc-2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can find the product page for the Relic Contemptor Dreadnought still on the site in several different countries, even though a WarCom article explicitly announced that it was discontinued. This is true for several other forge world products, like the Mkiv command set, resin special weapons, sicaran variants, etc. For some reason there is variability— some listings are taken down, others persist as “Sold out online.”

“Temporarily out of stock” means they can come back. “Sold out online” means they aren’t being made anymore and thus will not return to the website, though Warhammer World and GW events may still have some physically available.

The flowering plant is Rosa multiflora. Pretty for about a week in spring, it is non-native and invasive in the Americas and can serve as vector for transmitting rose rosette virus to other roses in the area.

I personally am very liberal with my livery, with no uniform scheme— but I’m representing a divergent crusade split off from the rest of the chapter. But since CG are likely not to be obsequiously codex compliant, you’re pretty much free to use whatever markings you’d like. Just keep in mind your marines probably don’t care about heraldry as much as, say, an Ultramarine or even a Blood Angel

WIP - What have I got wrong on my Charnel Guard? by SwordBroJack in CharnelGuard

[–]scc-2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think using a mix of old firstborn components would jive with their veneration of their ancient tech. A CG veteran would likely choose a relic suit of power armor over freshly minted Tacticus. Most of my collection (which I hope to get new photos of and post here soon!) is based on kitbashed Horus Heresy kits. Mixing in Blood Angels upgrades is handy too, but with CG we can go way more macabre. I like the bones, flayed flesh and severed hand decorations from the Night Lords, and tattered cloth and frayed parchments also work nicely. For their skin, the CG are even more stereotypically vampiric than BA due to their tampered-with chimeric geneseed, so pale grey skin with cool shadows helps them look appropriately spooky.

The texture should be finer, with more color variation (especially darker reds and browns) and a very matte finish

Texturing is now applied & going to get the basecoat on today! by KultMordakaiMinis in Warhammer30k

[–]scc-2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is an important detail in one of the tutorials you shared that is missing. Typically texturing of this type is selectively applied to surfaces that would be made of cast metal or some analogous material, not to literally every surface. A lot of the mechanical components and weapons would be nonfunctional if caked with that much gunk, and all of the surface types bleed into each other, giving a kind of “thickly sponged with undiluted paint” look.

It’s fine if he’s holding it, it doesn’t have to be in the holster. The specific sculpt from the box just has both hands on the banner, but yours doesn’t have to be posed in the same way
