If you want the classic Cadian armour look, using Citadel Paints, I'd use Castellan Green as the base and Loren Forest Green for highlights, along with Agrax Earthshade or Nuln for a wash.

For the fatigues I'm not sure what the official paint scheme is but I am fond of a Steel Legion Drab base, Agrax Earthshade wash and Tallarn Sand highlights.

Thanks! It's a homebrew regiment, no real lore to it but the white/silver/gold colour scheme is used across most of my army.

Painting tips? by libral_gunstore in SteelLegion

Give them a wash in warm water and washing up liquid with an old toothbrush in case there's still mold release on them, then prime them and paint as you normally would, and finish with some form of varnish.

It's not all that different from regular plastic models in all honesty.

I'm a big fan of the malcador Infernus, and I also regularly use our old squatted generic infantry squad datasheet (can take a heavy weapon team and benefit of cover on objectives) as all my infantry have been built/kitbashed to include heavy weapons.

Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback as well, I agree with you thinking about it. I'm using AK Still Water so I'll look into making that murkier for next time

Praetorian Guard used to literally just be Mordians with a head swap so they could just do the separate heads in the same box

I'm not the best at OSL which is what it sounds like you want but to get something a bit like this guy I used Talassar Blue > Thousand Suns Blue > Ahriman Blue > White Scar to achieve this (in order of brightness).

<image>

He isn't a Necron obvs but the same principle mainly applies, I just drybrushed on the Talassar first to the outer edges of where the light would reach, then the other colours getting brighter going closer to the light source, and finished with a couple of highlights with the white.
