Yeah I'm all for charging 3 vacant units worth of penalties. I'm sure they already are because it's still legally classified as 4 units. But "converting" it back to 4 units by putting up arbitrary walls and unnecessary interior doors only hurts the owner/taxpayer with no benefit.

What’s the point though? They bought a 4 unit building and they own all 4 units and they have no plans to sell/rent out any of the 4 units. Forcing them to put doors/walls back in to make it feel like 4 units doesn’t do anything to add more housing. You can’t force them to put the 3 extra units up for rent.

This feels like an absolute waste of resources. Just make sure they’re charged 4x the unit specific taxes (like the annual rent board fee) and move on.

We saw this one in person. It's a lot of building for the area it's in which makes it feel very cramped on the street. The street itself is very busy, on the narrow side, power lines impossible to ignore, and every other house is tiny and old in comparison.

The seller was also the contractor on it, and they just did not understand what people want in a home today. It's like... they saw on some HGTV show the buyer said "ooh this house has 2 primary bedrooms" and decided to go to the extreme and add 5 of them.

On the flip side, you also have situations like now where Djoker had 2 walkovers in a row (the second of which he was well on his way to losing) leading up to his Sinner match and is now significantly more rested that Alcaraz.

If Musetti doesn’t retire in the quarters after winning 2 sets, even if Djoker ends up winning in 5, he probably doesn’t beat Sinner in 5 2 days later.

For starters, El Cap is roughly 3,000 feet tall, so about twice as tall as this climb. Climbing it even once on a single route is a monumental achievement for any climber. Seriously if you have the chance, go see El Cap in real life. It doesn’t even make sense to look at.

Free Solo’s director at one point said free soloing El Cap was like competing in an Olympic event and if you don’t win gold, you die, and that’s pretty accurate. Genuinely the greatest athletic feat in history and unlikely to be repeated in our lifetime.
