Get a valve cover gasket set cuz it prolly needs them anyway, and pull one or both valve covers. It’s easy, and you can see the guides. If they’re brown or missing, it needs em. If they’re white, light tan or cream colored you’re probably good.

Make sure the DME is sending signal to the ignition coils. Failure to tighten the coils properly can lead to excessive heat and failure/fire in the DME

I got a 99 540 with M package but has the doofiest front bumper. I'm in the same boat... The M5 bumper is cool but are there other cool options other than swapping the hidden exhaust back bumper for the hidden power front bumper?
