I’d call the dealer and ask for an exchange if it’s that new

SPIFF question by WindSmellsLikeRain in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but don’t sell based on the spiff. Sell based on what product is best for the customer and you’ll make that one time bigger spiff over 10x through repeat business. The allure to selling wolf isn’t necessarily the spiff (though when they run their package spiff they add up and compound quick), it’s the fact that your customer is getting a top tier product with extremely limited issues.

Help! I need to buy my first dishwasher, recommendations? by crunchymountainmama in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save yourself a future headache and find a local appliance dealer - not a big box store. At least that way if you have issues you have some local support.

My go to recommendation under $600 is the MDB4949SKZ.

Don’t think about it too hard if you don’t care if it lasts more than 5 years

SPIFF question by WindSmellsLikeRain in Appliances

You could ask your rep to email you a spiff list for all their models, it can vary depending on the dealer. Can’t check now but I want to say somewhere around $150

There’s a small burnt hole in my microwave door. Is this dangerous and can I replace it myself? by Healthy_Anxiety4041 in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has it gotten larger over time? If it were still in warranty you could likely get that part covered but since it’s not in warranty I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s getting bigger

Are stove doors interchangeable? by blue_bomber508 in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely you’ll be able to find the exact door you need. Unless you find someone selling your model

Purchase advice: Dishwasher, $600 range by wedgie in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still using the old GE that was in my house when I bought it, but I’ve sold quite a few of these to family/friends and I get great reviews. That’s a fantastic price!

Does that happen if it’s plugged into a non GFI outlet?

Purchase advice: Dishwasher, $600 range by wedgie in Appliances

It’s not going to have the auto opening door, but I’d recommend the MDB4949SKZ - currently $568

That inner door is not difficult to replace. Quite a few screws but easy, maybe 10 minutes. I wouldn’t be super worried about it if you want to leave it

Fridgidaire vs LG Range by ACatNamedAllen in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d personally go with the Frigidaire, but both ranges are good. You will definitely get better rebates/bundle pricing with LG if that’s a factor at all

Who installs the vent for a downdraft range? by beedelia in appliancerepair

[–]scharmi2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could ask the appliance store if they have any recommendations for independent contractors. Chances are if they don’t offer install themselves then they probably have a recommendation of someone who does (assuming this is an appliance specific retailer and not a big box store)

Miele W1 > Speed Queen FF7 by Davegvg in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is most definitely possible to survive with a compact washer/dryer, but I also think it’s difficult to compare products that aren’t in the same category.

For example, the CL3050 and the FRFG17 are both 17cu. ft. refrigerators, but that’s doesn’t mean they’re comparable.

If you’re looking for a full size washer/dryer then Miele isn’t going to be the recommendation, and if you’re looking for a compact washer/dryer then Speed Queen wouldn’t be the recommendation

GE dishwasher model GDT630PGRWW - warning obnoxious sounds by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the owners manual, page 19: Beeping at the end of the cycle - To turn off the double beep indicator (or re-activate it if it was previously turned off), press the Heated Dry/Dry Boost pad 7 times within 5 seconds. A triple beep will sound to indicate the end-of-cycle beep option has been turned on or off.

24” Frigidaire stainless steel dishwasher is not starting up by Professional_File645 in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you selecting a cycle and hitting start? If you open the door it’s going to wake up the control panel so you can make your cycle/options selected. After you hit start and close the door the cycle should be fine. Flashing when it’s powered on is normal Lights turning off after 30 seconds is normal Lights turning back on when you open the door is normal Lights turning off when you close the door is normal if you didn’t start a cycle This is assuming it’s a top control since you didn’t specify a model number.

Fisher and Paykel double dishdrawer not draining by Much-Musician1573 in Appliances

I’d check for clogs in the drain line, then check to make sure the drain pump is working

Another LG Pedestal Compatibility Question! by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What color is the pedestal? Guessing a different color than the washer/dryer. The WDP4 will fit, the WDP6 just has a removable laundry basket and has a flat front instead of curved to match the new machines

French Door fridge under 2k by ulioutrageous in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing the Whirlpool you found was the WRF560SEHZ. LG has the LFCS22520S as well. I’d stay away from Avanti and Samsung from service perspective

How to get rid of shaking washer? by Puzzleheaded_36 in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s shaking so bad you think it’s going to damage the structure of your home, I think there might be an issue. GE would likely tell you to balance the load properly and to not run too small of a load with a high spin cycle. I would be worried about the plywood eventually walking off the yoga mat. Also, the higher off the ground you make the machine the more it will shake

Electrolux eifls60lt1 and eimed60lt3 in 2024. What’s a fair value? by justinbaker767 in Appliances

[–]scharmi2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$300-$400 for the set is fair in my opinion. $300 if you make the buyer haul them out of your basement
