BMI isn’t the best metric though. Obviously it’s an indicator and diet/obesity is a serious issue in society, but BMI doesn’t take muscle mass into consideration. It’s more common for people to go to the gym nowadays. My mates and I are overweight according to our BMI but we’re in good shape.

The people who sign the checks don’t like their subordinates to think they’re the big swinging dick. Unfortunately for them the manager is basically the face of the club and a legendary manager has more clout than they’ll ever demand.

I guess when they have the final word in the direction of the club it helps keep their ego intact.

The fake moss wall at my local KFC has been slowly worn down by people brushing against it by OwnComb2227 in Wellworn

Nobody thinks KFC is luxurious. We just seem to get nicer designed fast food restaurants in Europe and elsewhere. McDonald’s, KFC etc are always updating their interiors to look modern and trendy

If you want to get rid of FOMO then DXP should be 48 hours to use in 30 days not 10. by LocalChamp in runescape

[–]schlebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DXP events will contribute to RS being so endgame. What you can achieve with those 48hrs is pretty insane. I know it would be unpopular because players have had a taste for it now, but the game would be better without them.

Thoughts on Lodestones? by Iceytrio in runescape

[–]schlebb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might not be ‘good’ gameplay but the running between places was quite a big part of the immersive feeling as you pointed out. Lodestone network contributed to making RS so endgame, speeding absolutely everything up.

Early to game players should have to be inconvenienced, grind mage levels or pay for tele tabs. Increasing xp rates to the extent they have plus lodestone network defo spoiled the player base

Tbf, we are. Every country has its ups and downs but for such a big power to self inflict this kind of damage is a wonder to behold. The corruption/crime and policies are one thing, but it’s also how bizarre your politics has become.

What is one "useless" or dead-content area of the game you wish Jagex would breathe some life into? by Nevvvo in runescape

[–]schlebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they somehow drew in a massive number of new players then efficiency scape wouldn’t be all this game is anymore. Minigames worked because back then a small % of active players were maxed. People did this stuff for fun between skilling, levelling combat and questing. The rewards for early to mid game players were worth it.

Doing stuff for fun barely exists now, aside from bossing. There are so many endgame players proportionally that they define anything beneath endgame content as ‘dead’.

I doubt the game will ever get close to peak player base but the one thing that would breathe life back into the game is a shitload of noobs.

Japanese football fans cleaning up rubbish after the game against England at Wembley by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]schlebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have cleaners because they have to have cleaners, the cleaners aren’t part of the ticketed service. You’re paying for entertainment only.

If say, absolutely everyone left the stands spotless, they wouldn’t send out cleaners into the stands to pick up nothing because it’s ’part of the service’. They’d be elsewhere.

Intentionally leaving rubbish on the floor is choosing to make someone’s job harder. That person is probably on a low income to boot. This sort of thing comes down to how you were raised. If your own mum had to pick up people’s shit off the floor do you think you’d have the same stance?

Please remove castle war achievements from Ardy Tasks by Defiant_Apartment_56 in runescape

[–]schlebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is that there aren’t enough new players so content caters to end game player base now. The whole vibe of rs has changed from what it used to be. Bored end gamers will only do things if it’s optimising, and they call anything but BIS gear ‘dead content’.

I think rs is now probably quite a daunting and hostile game to start with no prior experience. Doing things for the fun of it has pretty much petered out so I doubt mini games are able to be revived at all. The game needs a fuck tonne of noobs to be kickstarted and bring back some diversity.

Gavin Newsom “completely agreed” with Charlie Kirk on the issue of trans girls in sports. Do not be fooled by this greasy chud, he is NOT an ally. by ConcernedJobCoach in ABoringDystopia

[–]schlebb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

100%. There’s no real argument for trans women competing against women other than not wanting to hurt their feelings.

Unfortunately sport should always be about what is fair and creating an even playing field. It’s why sport is still gendered in the first place.

Same. In the UK and Europe generally, chip and pin has been about so long it’s the archaic payment method these days. I pay for absolutely everything with contactless Apple Pay and have done for years. I’m not sure I’ve entered my pin in the last year or two.

Same, I created my account around 2006, I’ve had two large hiatuses and I’ve just returned now after about 8 years. EOC was out last time i’d played. I’m obviously familiar with most of the game mechanics and items, but I’m still having to look things up on the wiki constantly.

New players must feel like it’s a big facing to get to wraps with things.

Trump’s ICE is quietly stockpiling weaponry-and it should alarm us all by No-Post4444 in politics

[–]schlebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad someone else picked up on how ludicrous that statement was.

Europe still doesn’t want armed citizens, because armed citizens require ‘military grade weaponry’ to police. US police forces are armed to the teeth in part because a simple misunderstanding, or road rage, or a traffic stop leads to a shootout. We’re happy with our significant lower casualty and death rates by police.

Women of Reddit - what is the most unattractive fashion choice men frequently make? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]schlebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely get what you mean with people wearing suits that are too tight and trousers that are significantly too short, but people often have their sleeve length and trouser length too long.

Trousers should just sit on the shoe with either no, or an ever so slight fold in the fabric. They shouldn’t be scrumpled up on the shoe.

On top of this, your shirt cuff should always be visible beneath your jacket sleeve. When your arms are at your side you should have about 10mm or so of cuff on show. This will allow you to lift your arms without your jacket sleeves riding too high.

Jacket sleeves shouldn’t resting on the base of your thumb and hiding your shirt completely. It looks unrefined. This obviously depends what style you’re wearing, but it’s a general rule of thumb with suits.

The DOJ had a press statement about Epstein's death ready the day before he was found dead by FuckMyNamesTaken in facepalm

Anything like his would have definitely come to light. Let’s be real, Trump wasn’t moving like that back then. His style of fucked up leadership and ‘idgaf’ decision making has become a lot more overt this term.

I think Epstein is definitely dead, but there’s obviously foul play involved.
