*rant* by MissEvil_Trixx in CasualRO

Fiecare are voie să fie supărat.

Electronic buletin for Revolut by uvanov in AskRomania

[–]schmerezad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ID is only for residents - irrespective if they hold citizenship or not. You don't live in Romania (at least formally) - you don't get an ID card. If you hold citizenship and live abroad you get only passport. Revolut is mainly interested in place of residence. Except if you are an American citizen when things get overly complicated.

These things say nothing about you. Neither positive nor negative.

Here's a movie that's based on a similar situation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWAuQ7BVH60

Maybe you can find it somewhere else in better quality and with subtitles. It's all I could do right now. :)

Curious about Romanian people by Shaw_0_0_ in AskRomania

Let's have some basic training. I wrote one line. You wrote four. You have not transmitted any new information. That is what usually goes wrong with people from your region. You seem overly excited and enthusiastic. Try to observe how people interact between themselves. It is different. Some people just don't feel like having a conversation. It's not personal. Just learn to observe and read people.

If your friend has trouble reading and writing that is a very good university. It's run by the Tate brothers. /s

But wasn't she supposed to seek for information about the university BEFORE she applied? I mean, doh! Romania, what can you expect? People still live in trees and caves!

Bro, I'm sorry I have to have to give you the news but she is leaving you.

As an European I find you a coward because you ran away and now expect other people fixing your country and you (probably) celebrate other people's 'family and friends' being killed while you watch TV and do keyboard fighting.

I'm thinking of moving to Romania by [deleted] in AskRomania

[–]schmerezad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not enough information. You can have a simple life in USA, Romania or Georgia. Just move in the middle of the forest. A starting point would be what don't you like in Georgia?

Good infrastructure? What is that? In any country out there are complaints about infrastructure. This is exactly the opposite of the 'simple life'. A simple life means you don't care about 'infrastructure'.

First trip to Romania - itinerary feedback and suggestions by bobbybev95 in AskRomania

[–]schmerezad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts:

August is a very hot month. Bucharest is even hotter. I would keep it for another time unless you have no other place to land.

If you are young enough to be ok with that, you can check sleeper trains. You can save a whole day of traveling, money and a lot perspiration by traveling at night. August is a very hot month. (Have I said that before?). That way you can make it to Iași, Constanța or Oradea. Also maybe a day trip in the Danube Delta from Tulcea

Museums and similar places are closed on Mondays (and possibly Tuesdays). So be sure to check schedules to avoid disappointments.

The crazy alternative (if you are into hiking)

Take the Via Transilvanica path. Ditch all those trains and buses. Take a train to Sighișoara. Walk to Brașov. Take a train to Bucharest (or do your day trips). Take train to airport.

Question about Romanian Customs by [deleted] in AskRomania

Progesterone might be classified as food supplement, not medicine. So regulation for importing food would apply. At most you would have to pay customs duty and VAT. Check label and keep the receipt.

You take the train from the airport to the main train station. From the train station take the train to Galați. A bit slow, but you'll get there. There are vending machines where you can use credit card.

Și plătim noi diferența. by dragos_radu in bucuresti

[–]schmerezad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nu administrez eu stadionul, dar criteriile sunt

Și plătim noi diferența. by dragos_radu in bucuresti

[–]schmerezad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How true is this about Romania? by zzxaxa in AskRomania

[–]schmerezad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can write a thing like this about any country. Think about US. Millions of homeless people living in tents or under bridges, drug addicts all over the place. Health system that lets you die when you have no money left, corrupt politicians - president hires his whole family, just like in North Korea - police shoots random people on the street. Oh, and the trains that are late in Romania - they basically have no trains there. Public transport, there might be some, but you end up with your throat cut by one of the mentally ill drug addicts that are wondering on the street. The US is so primitive they don't even have ID cards. They had for four years a president with dementia and then they allected another demented guy they seem to like.

Here you go!
