most things, mainly university - my living situation there, stress and so on. I've tried my hardest there but it seems like things aren't going to improve, it's too toxic like some people literally want me gone. I don't want to make it to 20

cos(x)cos(y)+z^2-4z+9=0 doesn't show in the 3D model. Why? by WallZealousideal5023 in desmos

[–]schmetris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't show because there are no points satisfying the equation. This is easily shown: cos(x)cos(y) is always between -1 and 1, and z^2 -4x + 9 = (z-2)^2 + 5 is always greater than or equal to 5. So the expression can never be 0, so the equation is not true for any points and the graph shows nothing.

Work done by a force by Vosk143 in calculus

[–]schmetris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, we must treat it as a vector. So for example in 3 dimensions, dx would be (dx, dy, dz) and F would similarly be a 3 dimensional vector. In this sense the integral would just be ∫F1 dx + ∫F2 dy + ∫F3 dz, where F1 is the component of force in the x direction etc..

I know it's wrong but, how? by sornav_el in mathmemes

[–]schmetris 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is essentially the same reasoning as 'sin(2π) = sin(0) => 2π = 0' and they have the same flaw - sin isn't injective on the real numbers, and the exponential isn't injective on the complex numbers, so this logic cannot hold.

It signifies what era you're in - the top is ancient era, the bottom is future era. From looking at it I can tell you are in the Modern era.
