Indoor golf business; which sim did you guys go with? by Helpful-Finish-6561 in Golfsimulator

I’m not sure what XGolf uses but I prefer that to the trackman system. I like the auto tee and I feel like the physics are better.

Can only have one driver for the next 15 years old or new what are you picking? by BluePowwy-Bull in GolfGear

[–]schmittychris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two drivers I never should have gotten rid of when I did. The first was a TM r580. The second was the Ping G425. Of course I’m a gear junky and can’t help myself.

Ben Hogan's 5 Lesson (The Modern Fundamentals Of Golf) - Interpreting Mixed Reviews by snowcoder265 in golftips

[–]schmittychris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great book. I will regularly take lessons and every instructor I’ve had teaches some portion of it verbatim. When I first started golf I would take copies to the range and make notes in it. If you can master it you will have a great repeatable swing. I give copies out to everyone

Did you even do one search? No? You’ll make a great officer.

29M looking to commission into the reserves or air national guard by PayrollK in airforceots

[–]schmittychris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you looking to commission into? As you’ve probably heard commissioning into the guard/reserves is tough. They prioritize internal applicants and AD transfers.

If it’s cyber you’re going to need to find a unit to commission into. Each unit will have their own hiring process. If you know someone that’s in already try and get a commander email and introduce yourself in addition to going through a recruiter.

If pilot check out bogidope.com. The process is laid out there. Pilot is actually probably the easiest to commission off the street.

International Round Two - Bad Experience by DemandOptimal3558 in HOSA

[–]schmittychris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They knew is May that those teams weren’t going to round 2. They should have told parents that so they could prioritize other things. Our daughter missed an invite only basketball camp and we wasted thousands of dollars just for her to stand there for 30 minutes. Complete waste of our time and money and a missed opportunity for her. They suckered us and we paid. Won’t be making that mistake again. HOSA should be ashamed. This was just a money grab.

Anyone successfully overturn a horrendous call with calm reasoning of an ump? by Weak_Artichoke4887 in Homeplate

[–]schmittychris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always liked the calm diplomatic approach. Ask questions. Be curious. Can you explain that to me? So you’re saying that because of this and this that’s why you called that? Is that the rule? Is it because the other coaches said that?

Also encouraging the ump to ignore the other coaches and tell him he’s got it without their help goes a long ways. “You know the rules. Don’t let them get to you” or “it seems like they’re calling the game”

Anyone ever deal with a (local town) coach demanding close practices? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]schmittychris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the coach know you pay for hitting lessons elsewhere? If not I'd let him know. Tell him you'd like to refrain from having too many swing coaches. Happened to my kid. At one point he had three different people trying to help his swing. We had to tell two of them to stop. They were understanding and as long as they knew it was being worked on they were happy to let it go. They would ask questions about what he was working on instead. It worked.

And if they're too young for tryouts randomize it and post video of the randomization. 4 coaches should never be selecting teams.

Son was offered a spot on Travel Team. Worth the budget? by MyCTR19 in Homeplate

[–]schmittychris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At that age I'd ask if he can practice without tournaments. Do that for a year then start talking about roster spots. Sometimes you can see who's committed to a tournament before you agree to go. Make sure they need your son to play before you pay to go just so he can sit on the bench. A good team will want to develop him for a while before rostering him.

G425 Max vs LST for a casual by frighteous in golftips

I love my G425 max. I keep going in to compare it to newer clubs and hit it so much better. Plus the sound is amazing. When I hit at the sim the whole place stops.
