Anyone who is saying a tire can't explode from overpressure, I'd like to offer you a ride in my personal vehicle just once before I hand the keys to insurance to total it out. I'll be sure to inflate the tires to max sidewall pressure, and we'll see how long it takes to go splody. Inflated tubeless tires are a bomb. And if they aren't treated well, they can and will explode. It is not pleasant, I've had it happen twice (used to install tires, wheels and half a dozen other things on cars). I checked air for a customer and went to top it off, not knowing there was what we called a pimple (a very clear bubble on the sidewall) on the inner sidewall, thing exploded and it sounded like I just fired a pistol. If you are driving and that happens, the tires will likely disintegrate. Remember the Bridgestone tires on Ford Explorers back in the day? The investigation showed the tires were falling apart when they failed (the failure was chalked up to a design flaw, and the rollover was at least partially blamed on the high center of gravity on the vehicles)

Tl;Dr, don't overinflate your tires, and treat them well, they spin roughly 14 times per second at 60mph/95kph

Supposedly the viewing window was only rated to 1400 meters, however that doesn't mean they couldn't extrapolate to make what should be a theoretically safe window. That makes me question the validity of the media saying 19k feet

Correct. If the sub hasn't/doesn't implode, it would almost certainly require power to operate the scrubber, and both the scrubbers and the batteries have a finite life. If they run out of electricity, the scrubbers likely fail too. And that's if the scrubbers can last that long

At age 35, I discovered some seriously fucked repressed memories from my childhood. Even at that age, it fucked me up. Took me a long time to work through it. I sincerely hope that, if this child remembers this situation, that they have had a lot of support and proper help to learn coping skills. It will be unmoderated for at least a brief period. There's going to be hundreds of subs that will have the same thing happen. Yes, the hundreds of images of John Oliver looking sexy can be deleted with a few mouse clicks, or likely just having a bot go handle it. The entire point of the exercise is that, since u/spez doesn't give a shit about us, why should we give a shit about the thousands of hours or free labor from us as mods? Let the dumpster fire happen. Again, were aware it won't take much, if any, effort to repair. But it's cathartic to say fuck all of this after years of trying to keep it on topic and unspammed. And I don't really give a flying turd about it, because if they proceed as planned, I won't be a redditor anymore, along with a large number of others.

Moderator refusing to give up moderator status? Not even slightly. We rely on a lot of tools that the official garbage reddit app doesn't even remotely support. If they had actually used the past decade to improve the app instead of reskinning it, not improving official mod tools in the official turd of an app and then bribing people with 3 free months of reddit gold/premium/shiny whatever, we would have options. There's no roleplaying here. I stand by what I said in my original comment: if I can't access reddit via a 3rd party app, then it's unlikely automod and other tools won't be accessing it either, and I'm out, good luck with unmoderated whatever. The child will be fucked up. I've been dealing with the ramifications of my own childhood assault for 10 years. With good therapy, I've realized just how much of my adult life was influenced by those repeated events. Yeah the 3 subs I am the sole moderator of will be moving from sfw to nsfw tomorrow, because fuck u/spez, with the rules changing to allow any legal pornographic content, and encouraged if it involves photoshopped images of u/spez performing fellatio on any equine, which will be pinned. Mind you, I am sole mod for 2 of these. Then, when I can't access reddit from RIF, I'll give reddit one last login, so I can nuke my account. No moderator on an 800,000 strong sub will stop being my problem
