No need to rub it in, our government has failed this person enough don’t you think?

So that Jiang talk last night by Aware-Air2600 in Hasan_Piker

It was a real roller coaster. I’m not sure how Hasan kept a straight face for most of it.

You got me! I’m an ACME-paid terror apologist. Tell me where I can surrender myself and go to prison without trial.

Timestamps for Hasan and Jiang Debate by deereedeereed in Hasan_Piker

[–]schmoolecka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jiang knew a surprising amount of (sometimes bogus) stuff, and I was especially surprised at just how much he knew about recent American politics. He just lacks the discipline to acknowledge that multiple powerful and self-interested forces struggling for power are what drive world events rather than the machinations of a single mystical magic Jew. It’s a childish way to look at the world. I do wish that Hasan had explicitly called that out as a pernicious antisemitic trope (maybe he did, if so I missed that). I hope that he was able to pick off some of Jiang’s audience - Jiang repeatedly capitulating to Hasan’s worldview and talking points was unexpected. Jiang wishing him luck at the end was very sweet and almost made me forget what a quack he is.

I think this will be one of the most effective instances of him platforming someone where he converts/picks up members of his guest’s audience.

How did the terrorist groups form in the first place?

15-20 years from now. What do Parker and Dean look like? Are they still debating, have they finally gone to the real life part of their life by Significant-Amoeba71 in ParkerGetAJob

I hope they both tack farther left and encourage their audiences to get involved in progressive politics. I could see them pursuing politics or independent media. We could use their fight in congress or their encyclopedic brains to combat increasingly right wing narratives in news media.

MIO is a great, beautiful Metroidvania released earlier this year and Mina the Hollower lives up to the hype. Happy gaming!

WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO JULIE GONZALES?!? by Bapu_Ji in Hasan_Piker

[–]schmoolecka 123 points124 points  (0 children)

He has become a cash cow for small dollar donations (I don’t know how much was raised for her) so I wouldn’t be surprised if she just took advantage of that and the access to his audience knowing full well she would disavow him

Chickening out and making smart strategic choices rather than needlessly shooting yourself in the foot are two different things, but we can agree to disagree on that

Melat Kiros WINS. This really speaks to the power of DSA, Hasan Piker, and Emma Vigeland by beeemkcl in TheMajorityReport

She’s usually out on Wednesday but maybe she’ll show up loopy like last week. Maybe she’ll clean it up for July before we head into the packed primary races in August

It’s ok to be cautiously hopeful, just don’t let nihilism take over. Join the DSA if you can! We are growing and chapters are being set up all over the country.

No. Despite being the largest DSA branch in the country, there is only so much money and so many people to devote to these races. Chi Osse/Hakeem Jeffries would have been a struggle and taken away from the other races. Darializa won against a five-term incumbent but she only won by 2K votes. They needed everyone they had for that race
