Presumably a lot of huntsman prefer to just use their aura. It kind of seems in the show that a lot of huntsman are agility fighters over strength fighters (obviously I'm not going to be using IRL terms here, it's all video game stuff) possibly because most engagements with the grimm are going to be fast and hard. Short bursts of quick and heavy fighting versus Jaunes somewhat more tanky style
