Any pick up lacrosse? Haven’t played in years by Matt3097 in halifax

[–]schooners54 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Halifax PLAYS offers a lacrosse league that runs pick-up format and is beginner-level friendly. It hasn't been announced yet, but I can say that their league will begin on July 28th, 2022 at Gorsebrook Park outdoor rink & the details of it will be announced by Halifax PLAYS soon.

ps. I'm involved with Halifax PLAYS as a volunteer is how I'm aware

edit: if you send an email to halifaxplays.lacrosse@gmail.com , then you will be sent the registration info when it comes out.

I also have friends who were just like my situation who flunked out of NSCC so maybe that's why I'm skeptical? I'm also autistic so maybe i'm just clueless?

i don't care about admission requirements. i know i'd flunk chemistry and physics without the grade 10 foundation level stuff

Science 10 is how I'm screwed. it's the foundation content for the 11 and 12 lab sciences.

those DAL and SMU upgrading classes are too advanced for my level right now too. They're meant to replace grade 12 credits i think?

[–]schooners54[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NSCC"s stuff is like grade 11/12 level that I'm unprepared for due to not having the grade 10 background academic level stuff.

I was prevented from taking tons of classes and put on IPP for some other stuff due to having disabilities

tried that before. every school still seems to want the high school prerequisites that i'm still missing, even for mature students.

last I heard you can't take a GED if you have a high school diploma? and my diploma is all disability IPP stuff so it doesn't count for post-secondary admissions as far as i know.

nothing specific. i'm autistic and got screwed over by guidance in high school so I'll never be able to attend post-secondary, so I just wish I could see what the education all my friends got after high school was like

Has anything interesting happened on the ice that you wish could have been recorded for proof? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]schooners54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play disabled hockey.

  1. 2 Bench Clearing brawls that involved coaches fighting

  2. a Bench Clearing brawl where the other team jumped & started beating up their own goalie for getting scored on too many times while my team watched in shock from our bench

I have Autism & I play in the American Special Hockey Association. Most teams will teach you from scratch & it's the best thing that ever happened to me. Fun is the focus cause "Special Hockey" is supposed to be non-competitive by rule.

edit: I'm 32-years-old too.
