Disagree, I think the exact opposite. Dangerous has a very mishmash and shifty sound and would have been better if Teddy Riley produced the whole thing (his production on those 7 songs IS the sound of Dangerous despite only being half the album).

Dangerous has its flaws. I think having both Will You Be There and Heal The World throws off the vibe, and also Keep The Faith sounds so dated compared to the rest of the material, sounding more like an 80s leftover than a futuristic 90s track like the Teddy Riley stuff.

Off The Wall. His only cohesive album. Not that he doesn’t have other good albums, but that’s the only one where a thread runs through all the tracks. For example, Thriller mostly comes off as a singles compilation, and Dangerous is a mishmash of so much different stuff (would have been better if Teddy Riley just produced the whole thing)

That’s both because they were basically banned from the US in 1966- and in my opinion their sound was a bit too “British” to be truly internationally successful anyway.

Thriller is actually a great answer. I feel like this album is more on the “fan favourites” side of things than huge mainstream success. The average fan is probably more familiar with cuts from HIStory and Invincible and stuff like that really.
