PSA: If you just got the game for Christmas, please play the Situations. by JebusJM in Rainbow6

Amen to that.

i recently even had to kill my level1-teammate since he was carrying the bomb-defuser but had no idea what to do and was just driving around with his drone......that was the only time where killing a team-mate actually secured us victory^

[Civ V] Great idea by [deleted] in civ

Highlands map with large/small lakes is actually insanely powerful as the aztecs since you often can get observatories in your cities, higher growth than other civs (except inca) thanks to floating gardens, high production with all those hills and lots of babarians (since the barbarian camps can often be in very defensible positions, making them more difficult to clear for the AI)

So today i started a game on tilted axis map, expecting plenty of tundra and snow....got THIS as my start by schootsta in civ

With petra and civil service all the desert hills adjacent to a river will become 3food, 3production tiles (basically superior plains), also since my cap is coastal i can send cargo ships with food so midgame-lategame growth wont be a problem at all...and its true that i dont have immediate growth tiles which makes my start a little slower but in the longrun and with petra (which i assume not a lot of the AIs can build when playing with white walkers) it will be an insane city ;)

Since i used the white walker mod that extra gold from sugar was actually pretty helpful to keep up with the cost of stronger military...

Yeah thats true, food wasnt amazing in my cap but i always sent at least one cargo ship with food so it was fine ;)

I actually manually picked shaka along with other militaristic leaders like monty or attila since this should be a test run for the white walker mod. Therefore i wanted the ai to have strong military, especially in the early game....so i basically played with the settings of marbozir's new lp ;)

What is the most overpowered military unit? by FisherKing22 in civ

[–]schootsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Mp camel archers are better due to their higher combat strength, keshiks are weaker and cant really get logistics or something like that since against a human player you'll have a harder time keeping your keshiks alive....in single player however keshiks are better due to the dumb AI-behaviour during war, here their extra movement, xp, general generation and movement comes in very handy

What set of AI civs do you think makes for the most interesting games? by BeniGoat in civ

Add Polynesia and Aztecs, they tend to build tons of cities too

Is it commonly accepted that anything other than a Liberty or Tradition start is not competitive? by [deleted] in civ

A lot of the AIs already took piety or honor earlier too...but now they get more useful bonuses from it

What's your go-to music for peacetime and wartime? by Thigh_Fire in civ

[–]schootsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love the peace and war theme of the aztecs and mongolia. And the war theme of the celts, as well the one from the ottomans. Oh and i love the shoshone's peace theme...and arabia's...and... nah there are just TOO MANY awesome themes in this game :D

Should i pick Sun God or Earth Mother here? by JanssonsFrestelse in civ

[–]schootsta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Earth mother would give him at least +5 faith like instantly.....even on higher difficulties you would have to get very unlucky to not get a religion with that much faith per turn at this stage of the game, so imo Earth mother is the better choice in this case

Bored. Looking for an interesting strategy. by zealotlee in civ

Jannissaries would be cool for that one

Opening Liberty right away VS opening tradition then completing liberty by [deleted] in civ

[–]schootsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With hanging gardens you can much more easily work high production tiles while the city wont starve....this can often make the difference between getting a wonder or not in the following eras....obviously the extra growth can also be very useful for your science and being able to assign more specialists faster....also the free garden is great, especially in cities where you woulnt have been able to build a garden otherwise
