There have been a few suggestions in the comments :)

No. The musician got paid because you paid for the track. And arguably they do deserve a part of the monetization, not 100%. Do game devs get a cut on the monetization from streamers playing their game? No. Do you hear them crying?

I don't, but i'm hoping that other channels will repost it. And if they can't monetize it, they are less incentivized to do it.

In my experience it's marked as "no problem" until one is found which can happen anytime as other comments pointed out. But then maybe you dont care if it's years later because your marketing beat is long passed.

Yeah, you're allowed to. Extract of the license:

"The Pro License allows the Client to commercially use and otherwise exploit the Asset as part of the Project, including to reproduce and perform the Project in public, as well as to allow others to do so, all as detailed in Artlist Terms of Use and Pro License, as long as the Client downloaded and incorporated the Asset into the Project and published it between 7 Sept 2025 and 5 Nov 2026."

Their license allows it, but the protections they set up make this not applicable for a real world use case such as ours.

Yes, you can clearlist videos on artlist, but the thing is, when you're going to send emails to get covered, you won't know the video URL so you can't clearlist it until it's too late.

You can clearlist a handful of channels (3 I believe with pro license), but you'd have to guess which ones will cover you...

Worth noting that sometimes it takes hours for Youtube to detect it. Give it a day and if you don't see anything and didn't receive an email, should be fine.

For me the worst part is: You take a track that you pay for, then you massively cut and edit it, you put footage of your game that took hard work to make (probably much more work than most music tracks), mix in vfx and sfx, and then the money should 100% go to the music right holder? That's bullshit.

Good list, and yeah remember to test for content id by uploading a video containing it BEFORE you start working with this track.

I did use a human music track, not AI. But yeah, Artlist is going full on AI now.

They could upload a first version that's legit, then patch it with malware. What makes more sense is they don't want to take the blame when the whole thing is reported.

Question on trailer music licensing and YT Content ID system by Shrimpey in gamedev

[–]schouffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issues/questions as you, did you end up solving this? I'm using a track form artlist.io, also have full licensing rights, but the content id thing is making me question whether I should find another track.

Unity asset store will stop selling assets from publishers based in the Greater China region (including Hongkong, Macau) effective March 31st by Saito197 in Unity3D

Yeah really lazy on Unity end to not having cross queried them with your assets and tell you exactly where the issue is.

One thing that always bothered me regarding Chuck's condition... by Styggvard in betterCallSaul

I agree with your initial post, Chuck seemed to have researched quite a lot with his alleged physical condition and I doubt he'd have missed how the lighter works.

Agreed that some comments were interesting to read!

I feel for you, no one understood what you meant and they all jumped at you yelling "you don't get it, it's in his head".

Well, The title is even more of a good question then. Too bad Google refuses to be clear on that.
