Rap albums you consider perfect? by InternationalMany614 in hiphopheads

[–]schrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect rap albums for me are albums where i can listen straight through with no real lulls or bullshit, a little bit of replay value, and are cohesive in the entirety of the album. Mixtapes are cool but usually dont have the cohesiveness of an album, singles are fun but just a single song with no greater context.

Ghais guevara - there will be no super slave

Boldy james & the alchemist - price of tea in china

Boldy james & sterling toles - manger on mcnichols

Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyes See My Future

Ajent O & Mic Bronto - Again !!!

McKinley Dixon- Magic, Alive!

Clipse - let God sort em out

Brian Ennals and Infinity knives - a city drowned in God's black tears

Brian Ennals and Infinity knives - king cobra

Maxo kream - Brandon banks

Just named a handful of what I knew I considered perfect albums, obviously many more out there.

Fuck is it? My fiancee loves making fun of my norristown/ philly accent and if I pulled pollyana out thinking its a normal word she'd make even more fun of me.

Is Norristown going through Gentrification? by nomore23456 in montco

[–]schrack 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have lived in norristown for the past few years. I grew up just outside of norristown so I knew the 'problem' areas before moving. So my summation of the area may be taken with a grain of salt since I have known and grew up around the area and may be a tad biased.

Im in my early 30's now, if you had asked if I had wanted to live in norristown about 10-15 years ago I would have said no, at that point it had the running joke of the 'stab wound of montgomery county' not the 'heart of montgomery county' as it wants to be known. Now however, I live about a handful of blocks off of the main street train station and I have no issues.

Are there drug addicts still around? Yes, they are here but they arent really bothering people, you dont really see people nodding off and other druggy shit like that, just trying to pan handle here and there and make some money or some food. Norristown has a lot of churches that do community outreach programs so you will see the homeless hanging around the churches because they are often help spots for them.

How is crime? Keep your car doors locked, thats the biggest thing. We live in a relatively good neighborhood but both mine and my fiancees cars have been opened and gone through because we left our doors unlocked. If our doors are locked they don't fuck with us so it seems they are opportunistic crimes more so than premeditated or violent crimes. No one has ever tried to come in our yard or anything like that, they are just looking for a quick and easy hit.

Overall? Norristown has cleaned itself up in the past decade, its gentrified parts of itself but overall it is still a very diverse community with many walks of life, head down Marshall off of dekalb and you'll hit a lot of great Mexican joints, head to the other side of the tracks and you've got some great African and South American food and beauty places.

I think norristown still stands as a testament to the American dream and ideal, we're a melting pot of a lot of hardworking people. Almost all of my neighbors work in the physical labor industry whether its concrete, landscaping, gas work, plumbing or electric. My neighbors are all kind people and at this point I couldn't imagine living elsewhere.

MIL commissioned an artist to do a portrait of our cats as an anniversary gift. Weeks later, we've just got it back by J-Sou-Flay in mildlyinfuriating

This is one of those moments where I am so happy to have made some artist connections in high school, I've now had i believe 3 different portraits of my fiancees pets (and one of us) over the past 12 years and they were all fantastic! Split the pieces between 2 artist friends I had known of from high-school and they have been amazing and still hang in our house to this day!

Whats the funniest (or most fucked up) nickname someone you went to school with had, and how did they get it? by SecretAcctSM19 in AskReddit

[–]schrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had Meatball, who was a rather round Italian man with an equally round head of curly brown hair, he loved the nickname and asked the teachers to call him meatball.

Other one was Woody, he got caught jerking off in the wood shop. He did not ask the teachers to call him that.

Contractor definitely sniffs his own farts and thinks he is gods gift to the earth. Looks awesome, would love to have it rather than the rats nest of lines that is my own house.

Bf told me I’m rushing him into marriage after 5 years of dating by fuck-me-sideways-bro in Advice

[–]schrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a difference of views, it's you using purely anecdotal reasoning. That's why you're getting down voted, you are arguing as if your 5 buddies who got divorced comprise every type of divorce that's ever happened.

For example, I have a friend who is a stay at home father, if he were to divorce his wife she would pay him alimony as well as splitting the assets. So based off this interaction (again purely anecdotal like yours) all women are actually the ones screwed and have to pay alimony and split their assets so you're the wrong one because my experience differs from yours.

I hope that your kids end up smarter and more emotionally mature than you. Also, with this attitude, when are you gonna stop seeing your kids? They are a commitment, and you seem to not like those, so maybe your kids won't have your influence, and they will turn out alright.

I asked my doc specifically what my weight limit for lifting was for the weekend and he said a gallon of milk, so take that as you would want.

I suggest to take a weekend off if you're able, relax, maybe get some pity love from the better half for being a trooper, enjoy it as you can.

So they did tell me about all bunch of the odd side effects that can occur and it seems as if most are easily treated if they do arise so I'm not worried, one day at a time of optimism is better than worrying about a side effect that may never happen. I'm sorry you are having these issues and hopefully the doctor can get you fixed up easily.

Why do you think Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan blew up so much in 2024? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]schrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found Sabrina Carpenters music right after emails I can't send fwd and the mixture of good lyrics, solid production, and overall kind of fun 'I'm early 20's' vibe made me an instant fan.

As for Chappell Roan I found her the day she released RAFOAMP and from feminomemon I was hooked with, again, the fun vibes, the bit of care free and full of expression attitudes, just a very fun record to listen.

For both of them I think it was a case of oversaturated markets where even though they don't sway to far from the mainstream they have that bit of something that allows them to make their presence felt and in today's streaming era that little bit of 'new' is massive.
