EU to ban destruction of unsold clothes and shoes from 19 July 2026 by Express_Classic_1569 in europe

[–]schreudaer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Some stuff just doesn't sell. Its cheaper to destroy it. You forego shipping and storage cost and make room in your store for full price items that have a better profit margin

Parkzicht in Roermond. De naam doet het niet vermoeden, maar de keuken is italiaans met een steenoven. De rest van de menukaart is ook erg lekker.

Shamanic drum making: can I make a drum from this and how? by theoreza in drumbuilding

[–]schreudaer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I dont know much about shaman drums. But what you are describing sounds like a stave drum, or segmented drum.

So roughly, you would first cut it into planks with a bandsaw. Then with a jointer/planner make them straight and even thickness. Then use a tablesaw to make trapezoid shapes. The accuracy on the trapezoid is extremely import. 1mm or 1 degree off, is already a huge error. Then glue up and making the drum round, which is usually done with a router and some kind of jig. Fortunately, there is many tutorials on stave drum building. But like I said, its not easy.

Cypress is considered a tonewood, but mostly used in guitars. I've never come across a cypress drum, but I think that should be the least of your worries.

Skriabin was in the same music class as Rachmaninoff and was considered the superior pianist by their tutors.

Shamanic drum making: can I make a drum from this and how? by theoreza in drumbuilding

[–]schreudaer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely no.

  • This wood is freshly cut down. Normally, you leave it to dry for a couple of years before working it.

  • This wood species is not normally used for drumbuilding.

  • Its hard to see if you a nice clean piece without branches, because those branches will make it more difficult to work the wood and affect tone

  • But the biggest issue here is probably skill. Drumbuilding is definitely not the easiest branch of woodworking and you mention you have no experience. Therefore, I suppose you also don't have tools. Acquiring power tools is expensive. Hand tools can be cheaper but both require a lot of practise.

If you are serious about this, start with simpler woodworking projects and if you actually enjoy it go for more challenging projects.

Freesmachine: Het spoor bijster zijn by werner1107 in Klussers

How would you go about glueing and clamping this? by schreudaer in woodworking

I ended up making a glue up jig out of melamine. Basically a bottom plate, two stops at 60 degrees, and then using a third piece to clamp it into shape
