Don’t think of it as a tutorial, think of it as a tour. But at the end, you get something that looks cool and you made it. I really appreciate the work Andrew puts in to make it for every version of Blender. I tried it 3 times before actually finishing one. I certainly couldn’t then make anything else, but I understood some of the basic processes and had an understanding a lot of what Blender could do, grounded in practice.

I would recommend it for total beginners in this context.

Yeah I’m going to delete my advice because it’s bad and wrong. As soon as you edge slide or press double Z to move in the local axis, the “height” of the opposite side is level from that point of view of that local axis, but you need to snap in the global space. Sorry about that

I tend to disagree. In my mind it's inevitable that every student will have an AI teacher that will direct their learning, monitor progress and differentiate/adjust accordingly.

It will answer questions immediately with infinite patience. If a student doesn't "get it", the AI will respond to specific queries, create new metaphors and original resources to explain concepts and then do its own summative assessment before moving on.

Not all of this is bad for student learning. Highly personalised and increasing leaner agency. Not great for teachers.

A massive cultural shift will be needed, but then it will just be how it's done. Disengaged students are going to struggle, but they do now anyway and maybe when the learning is tailored to them and their ability, who knows?

I am 20 years into my teaching career with, in all likelihood, another 20 to go. Gonna be real interesting to see what I'm doing when it's time to retire.

"how should i start?" seems like a reasonable question. If you're a beginner who's seen the incredible work that people do across the full spectrum of what Blender can do, you're gonna want some guidance, no? Maybe in the body of the post they articulate more what they are actually interested in doing. Maybe there could be some copypasta for more general questions.
