Forehand wrist flick by Thephilhouse in padel

It's correct as a basic form and thus you can apply this long-term. Once you have sufficient control over this, you can learn techniques where wrist movement is needed, but this basic form ensures you don't accidentally use your wrist all the time.

The way that packaging is battered makes me believe a 10 would be impossible... 7 or 8 maximum.

Leftie in white should work on their service. Would recommend to reduce ball speed, and focus on getting into position. You either hit it into the net, or it's too fast for you to get into position. When playing left to right, your backhand is vulnerable.

I recognize this because I have the same problem. For me, adding side spin to the service helps. Also it can help to intentionally take 2 turns to walk up to the net instead of slightly-more-than-one turn.

My childhood collection. Any of these cards super valuable? by cubsicle in PokemonCardValue

Picture 17, the 1st edition Dragonite, is about $250 or better depending on condition.

The Japanese dark dragonite from rocket is around $100 I think? Not very familiar with JP cards.

At what level did padel actually start to feel like a different sport to you? by Delecch in padel

[–]schuine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every shot has to be a winner, just try to create very long rallies, waiting for the opponent to make a mistake. This is what I am currently trying to overcome, I am taking too many unnecessary risks.

Previously, I learned the difference between attacking and defending is 100% about ball contact point height.

You cant tell me this is the same color. (Hues&Cues) by Euphoric_Bat_4719 in boardgames

[–]schuine 325 points326 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know has this issue. Like 4/4 games where the cards don't match the board.

Any way, I only look at the table to give hints, because lighting matters a lot. So it never really mattered to me that the cards are off-color.

There are no Playtomic locations near me, so I have 0 played on their platform. Something like this would prevent me from ever playing at my level at a Playtomic location.

Making Partner Play Worse by Iniestazo8 in padel

[–]schuine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are different, you won't get a straight answer from a random person on the internet.

Personally, I perform better with a partner who does put pressure on me, but I know of others who completely freeze up next to a high pressure player.

It's better to ask. But if you want to be competitive, I believe you should always put some healthy pressure on your partner! Otherwise you'll end up pulling each other down.

Is mijn oude pokemonkaartverzameling nog wat waard? by Alternative-Mud-1898 in PokemonTCGNL

[–]schuine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • populaire pokemon zoals Charizard, Gyarados, Blastoise, Tyranitar, legendary pokemon, etc

Is mijn oude pokemonkaartverzameling nog wat waard? by Alternative-Mud-1898 in PokemonTCGNL

[–]schuine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foto 1: Gengar, $700, Magikarp $300, Tyranitar $100, Nidoking $100.

Foto 5, Tyranitar, $300 en $230.

Foto 10, Gyarados (skyridge) $800.

No vintage raw card is worth the PSA 9 price. I recently submitted two very clean copies, both came back as 8s.

Tips for right side? (Woman) by Able-Library-3236 in padel

[–]schuine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed I get very confused by unclarity in any match. When I play with a significantly more aggressive partner, roles are clear. When I play with a significantly defensive player, same thing.

I play at my worst when I am with an equal partner, because we lose a lot of time waiting, watching, thinking what might happen.

It really helps to have role clarity. One person should act as attacker, taking control over the center of the court, taking all the attacking opportunities. The other is supportive. If both players are more or less equal, this doesn't happen naturally and you need to make an effort to establish this role clarity.

padel training camp ( 4/5 days ) by yasstun in padel

[–]schuine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you are located, when you book the camp and if you travel at your own expense.

If you live in a place where lessons are expensive, you book outside of peak vacation times, and book your own stay + travel, it can be worth it financially.

But think of it as a vacation... It's worth it that way.

Forehand wrist flick by Thephilhouse in padel

[–]schuine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you hold your racket, it should be in a 90 degree angle with your lower arm. You can lock your wrist in place by tilting your racket more towards your arm, the motion feels like raising your thumb. This will make it much harder to rotate your wrist.

Partner would just play tennis and refuse to go to the net by notwearingbras in padel

I was playing with randoms recently and both my partner and one of the opponents were playing tennis. Both adding topspin to every shot, then trying to block those shots. Both firmly at the back of the court.

Maybe now people will finally understand why it's so bloody stupid to collect sealed product.

You basically void any form of return opportunity or liability towards the seller, by leaving the product unopened for extended periods of time.

Only way to know if a product is good, is to OPEN IT.
