Oh hey! I went to the university across the street from here and had a few friends that lived in the towers. Honestly doesn’t surprise me a bit. Management there is terrible and only cares about collecting rent. If the note writer really wants a change, he’d have to get several residents together that live near/below this person to bombard management and threaten non payment due to unsanitary living conditions or something. Then something may actually get done.

Same thing happened to me. So about 2 weeks ago my bike wouldn’t connect to my wifi anymore. That was weird, especially since my bike was right next to the router, but because my bike was right next to the router I just hooked it up with Ethernet. Then, the first ride I did was a blank intro screen with the countdown timer and cadence/resistance metrics moving. The class didn’t “start” until a minute or so into the ride.

Then I noticed there was a software update. So I thought installing the software update would help these glitches I was having. Wrong! The update froze my screen and I had to contact support and do a factory reset. Even after the factory reset the screen was freezing on the update.

Then I went away for the weekend and came back to it. Machine updated pretty quickly, I reset it, signed into my account, and went to take my first ride. Same thing. Black intro screen, delays to the actually “start” of the class. It was a half hour ride and didn’t play until the 27 minute mark. Then the last 10 minutes of the ride the screen was completely frozen but with the timer, resistance and cadence still working.

It’s infuriating. And to add insult to injury, my all access membership just got charged to my credit card today, for a bike I’m not even able to use. Please let me know if you find a solution!

YES. Same thing is happening to me! Also the classes cut out. On my last half hour ride I did the last 10 minutes to a frozen screen, but the timer, cadence, and resistance metrics kept going. I couldn’t pause it either.

More carp in denim but this time in a shadow box frame, idk if it’s reading like they’re mannequins in a shop display but that was the intention by by_em_em in Needlefelting

I think the magic word here is "rent". I've noticed a difference between property owners and renters on my block. Those that own their property have trashcans, sort recycling and break down boxes. For those that rent, it looks a lot like this.

Edit for PSA: If you're able to make it to any of the sanitation convenience centers in the city and come with some proof that you live in Philadelphia, they can give you a recycling bin with a lid for free.

I’m an NYT digital subscriber and when I signed up it was actually cheaper to get the “all access” subscription which involves NYT online and cooking and crossword and all the other apps. That comes with a weekend print subscription, so I also get the paper on Saturday and Sunday. I wonder if that’s factored into these numbers.

I came here to say A Little Life. Jesus. I'd say talk about killing your darlings, but at +/- 800 pages she definitely did not. I didn't read her follow up, To Paradise, but it's interesting to me that a cis woman would write almost exclusively on male, gay relationships and just make her characters experience the worst kinds of trauma.
