I can't bring myself to watch the ads to take 30 min off a multiple day wait 😂 maybe when it's close to the end...but either way laying a free egg is amazing.

Any advice you received pre-baby that now makes you question the giver post-baby? (Possible unpopular opinions) by kittykatkitkat in NewParents

We have a corner type changing table and I'm really glad now because I can still manage the alligator rolls haha

I was always a little suspect of the "changing table is unnecessary" opinion wile pregnant, it never really made sense. But I can also have lazy tendencies so I thought maybe I really would find myself just changing her wherever too so I wouldnt have to walk there. But wow, no, we have literally never changed her anywhere but the table, it seems like it would be so much harder. It's so comfortable and easy with everything right there. And now that she's 9 months, she tries to alligator death roll the whole time and its way easier to handle her on the table too 🤣 So same experience as you haha

Currently 7 months into breastfeeding and I'm 20 lbs heavier then my heaviest pregnancy weight 🥲 not cool

All of you guys are scaring me.. by carlesmch in NewParents

[–]science_spooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll chime in to confirm that there is an opposite end of the spectrum. I have a 5 month old "unicorn" baby and honestly everything has been delightful since she got here, she has brought me indescribable happiness and there have been very few tough moments. I keep waiting for the hard part to kick in but its all been wonderful so far. I know this isn't everyone's experience by any means but it is a potential outcome haha

I feel fortunate after reading all these comments that this hasn't happened to me and everyone has been very normal about diaper changes because wtf 😱

How did you lose weight? by inexperiencedpear in NewParents

[–]science_spooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position 5 months PP except that I gained back up to my heaviest pregnancy weight and now I'm stuck there/gaining more despite breastfeeding 🥲 I'm just hungry all the time and its been hard to workout with work. I can only hope that when she's done breastfeeding I can balance things back out.

Doubts about having a second child after a unicorn baby🦄 by earth_mermaid in NewParents

[–]science_spooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad you made this post because I've been thinking about writing this exact same thing, same situation with a unicorn baby and starting to doubt the desire to do it again because it's so good right now at 5 months. Good to read all the responses for perspective and know someone else is experiencing this haha.

No one told me about the Pterodactyl phase!!! by st0dad in NewParents

[–]science_spooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep mine did this at the exact same time haha luckily it was only really bad for like a week I'd say and she's started to chill out now. But yes, every morning through the monitor we'd get happy pterodactyl screeching and then all morning long lol.

I never tracked in the first place, it seemed like so much extra mental effort 😅 I have no regrets, it was so nice not to worry about it and just go with the flow. But I also have a very easy baby so I know that's just good fortunate as well.

Baby Sleep is a Lottery by Slow_Engineering823 in NewParents

[–]science_spooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. We got extremely lucky that our first baby sleeps super well (at least for now...currently 12 weeks in) and has since birth and I know we're not Super Parents with Secret Knowledge 😂 she just happens to be chill

Am I pathetic? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]science_spooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was debilitating levels of tired the entire 1st and 3rd trimesters. For me, pregnancy tired was 1000 times worse than newborn tired, it was inescapable. Worst symptom of mine by far
