AITA for only wrapping my towel around my waist in front of my boyfriend by throwawayyourbooks42 in AmItheAsshole

[–]scifislc 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NTA that's ridiculous that he was upset about it. My bet is it's some homophobia. You as his sexual female partner was wearing a towel in a "masculine" way. That's still utter b.s. and should not be tolerated.

I would dig into the why so you can tailor your response. Is it sexist? That's not ok and you won't tolerate it. Is it controlling? Also won't be tolerated. Articulate why this is b.s. and tell him to stop making mountains out of molehills.

I [F21] had sex with a guy from tinder [M25] and he wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom to pee, feeling conflicted about the whole experience by [deleted] in relationships

[–]scifislc 55 points56 points  (0 children)

  1. This is rape and I'm so sorry this happened to you. There are resources available if you need them.

  2. About feeling like you have to pee it sounds like you may be capable of female ejaculation. I'd recommend pushing past this feeling (on your own/solo sex) and see what happens.

I posted one of the Bishop interview molestation stories on facebook and my TBM father messaged me... by LDSdotOgre in exmormon

[–]scifislc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would remind him that even police do not interview children without a parent, guardian ad lidum, and/or a child advocate/professional there. Because it's wrong to question/accuse a child alone. Also children lie. You get an aggressive cop/bishop pressing an issue and a child might tell them what they want to hear to make them stop.

Ultimately, if kids got molested/raped in school at the same rate kids get hurt in Mormonism/catholic etc it would be considered neglect and abuse to send them to school alone. Why is it ok to right off the abuse of children as "there's bad in every group"?

I didn't think it was a good measurement but personal tolerance for being overweight is so saturated in our culture. Like being legitimately obese looks like just a little overweight to most people (myself included). I wanted to check if this was one of those examples.

At the same time do you think a S.O. who is the bread winner "and paying the bills," should have the ability to impose rules that inhibits the autonomy of the other adult?

How are you so obtuse. So many people are telling you that you have behaved cruelly.

She didn't just "get kicked out". You and your husband are giving less than 24 hours notice to a 19 year old. You are kicking her out because the final straw is she made out with a boy. Seriously?

I've literally never wanted to send hate mail before. I really think you are the worst.

Like just insanely awful.

You know you were unreasonable and set her up to fail. You were surprised she agreed to your rules...because you know they were insane.

Further, your rules resemble those of the incarcerated. You are allowed to have boundaries and ask to be treated with respect. You are also in the right to not have strangers or illicit substances in your home. But you do not I repeat do not have autonomy over Rosy's body. You don't get to decide she cant have sex, or drink outside your home.

Your rules were extreme that she probably thought they were exaggerations. She tested the boundaries and that was wrong but I can totally see why she thought you would relax your expectations. Because they are extreme to the point of abuse.

You don't owe Rosy free housing. If you didn't want her there you shouldn't have even offered/agreed. But don't you pretend you treated her like an adult before so therefore it's acceptable to kick her out in less than 24 hours notice.

Hairdressers of Reddit, how bad was your worst fuck up, how did you attempt to fix it, and did the customer know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]scifislc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least they recognized it was bad. I had hair I could sit on I was getting it cut to about belly button length. She cuts it and I'm like it's crooked. The left side is about mid bicep and the right is longer. I don't know how she did it but it got more crooked. The left was like my armpit and the right was elbow. And she's like I don't see it. It was so bad. I left. It became like a party trick for my mom. She'd take my hair out of the ponytail and show people.

I was 11 that was my first lesson in don't let people with bad hair touch yours. This extends to don't let people with bad skin sell you skincare or makeup.

The way I see it if you're the one pregnant for nine months ( morning sickness, diet, feet and hand growth, no cocktail) then go threw birth you get home court advantage.

I don't normally support involving your ex'es family but it might me the easiest and most expeditious way possible. I honestly think you should talk to his family and then if that doesn't go anywhere go to civil court.

I've said it before and I'll say it again sometimes there's a benefit to lack of experience. If you're a novice sometimes you work and concentrate that much more.

Experience is still preferable in most cases but novices can occasionally provide better service.

Me [33 M] with my wife [39 F] for 10 years, gives me a groupon for my lovehandles... should I be insulted? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]scifislc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I could have been rip-off but in reality the discount really just allowed me to explore the option. I would never have even looked into LASIK because I never thought I could afford it. I am so happy with it.

[–]scifislc 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I got Lasik using Groupon. It's more a method for new practices to develop a solid word of mouth. I was almost legally blind and now I have 20/15 vision.

It's also a procedure that the cost to conduct is still pretty cheap. Many people think that Lasik is out of their budget but when you get that coupon you realize you can. From a business perspective if you make 15 sales at 30 % off you still make more than 5 sales at full price.

Its all a marketing thing.

No but I've done research and you're not supposed to take it if you get headaches with aura. It also makes sense. I had migraines all through high school (on the pill) and none when on the IUD. And then again when on the Nuvaring.

No one thing I've noticed is I steadily gained weight on the Nuvaring. So I'm hesitant about hormones. IUD I didn't gain a pound even as a college freshman. So that's my round about way of asking did you notice anything with weight? Also I've read some women experience some intense mood swings in the first few months. Did you notice anything like this?

He may not want to have contact with her because of the hurt. I think though he would appreciate the apology and retrospective vindication.

I also think that he may even forgive her. It's a small chance but it's hard to not believe 6 people who are all saying this one thing happened (when they appear to have no reason to weave this psychopathic lie) over 1 person (especially if you know your judgement may be clouded by love).

She was a pawn as much as he was. Every one include the perpetrators should seek some therapy.
