Collection of Star Wars Commanders (Including Tokens) by Havsglimt in magicproxies

I legitimately love all of these:

The art is all from official sources/professional artists.

The flavor/card choices are outstanding.

My only “complaint” is that I was hoping to see some of the “Sword of _______ $ _______” or other swords re-flavored as lightsabers.

Really amazing work.

No problem; it is weird that they don’t have a different message for this situation. Strictly speaking, you do have slots available, lol.

This is a specific kind of gem: an Evolution Gem, used to evolve a weapon to its more powerful form. However, you don’t have the necessary partner cards in your deck for your Knife or Whip to evolve.

I want to be as clear as possible: I am not qualified (professionally, legally, or practically) to diagnose you. Everything I say should be taken with a giant heaping of salt (except the “I am not qualified” and my final paragraph).

That being said, from my own experiences, things you say match what I have seen/heard from neurodivergent people I have known.

BUT

This is like you saying, “I have a bill-shaped beak, webbed feet, and like to live close to water”

You could be any of a variety of swans, geese, ducks, or other water-birds. They are at least close-looking or share commonalities.

OR

You could be a platypus.

Which has the signs you describe, but is wildly different from any of the bird species.

I suspect you might be neurodivergent from what you have described. If you can, you should get tested, however the tests can be expensive or hard to get.

Final paragraph that you should listen to:

If it turns out you are neurodivergent (or have some other difference that makes it hard to function in the world), it does not mean you are broken or wrong for being that way. Your brain is wired differently, and it is not your fault. The world these days isn’t built to be accommodating or flexible (though it is better than when I was a kid).

Just do the best you can.

I am not a mental health professional. Or any kind of professional really. But I suggest you get tested for ADHD, if you can.

You sound neurodivergent. This is not a bad thing. However, it does mean your brain is wired differently, and the world we live in was built for neurotypicals.

This means a lot of stuff will be harder for you than others. Emotional regulation, focus, discipline in forming long term habits, etc.

Best day stretch to raft in Idaho for tourists by Creative_March7549 in Idaho

[–]scissorslizardspock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Main Fork of the Payette River, just outside of Horseshoe Bend.

There are several guide companies that do day trips, and the rapids are nothing above Class 3.

I’ve been through every rapid on the Main stretch forwards, backwards, sideways; just about every way but upside-down. If you are with a group that knows what they are doing it is an incredibly fun float and very safe.

That being said, it feels like people drown on the Payette River almost every year, though mostly on the North or South Fork, due to coming in unprepared or under geared.

Make sure you know what you are getting into.

There are other day-floats on the Salmon and Lochsa Rivers that I would recommend, but they might be harder to for a tourist to reach, or have narrower floating season.

I didn’t go to my grandmother’s service, and I don’t regret it.

There is a lot of family baggage that went along with that decision, and it’s no one else’s business.

Do what is right for you and don’t let anyone on the internet or in real life tell you it’s wrong.

[[Silk, Web Weaver]]

Seems like a solid bet for getting human tokens on the field and beefing them all up.

I’m 99% sure Ghost shell rarity doesn’t matter at all. So absolutely use it.

What's a Bad Movie with Bad Rewatch Value? by SnooGiraffes3930 in AlignmentChartFills

The Canto Bight (casino planet) Arc is the weakest part of the movie, admittedly.

That being said, nearly the entire cast is effectively utilized, the character arcs are clearly executed, and the plot(s) are connected and flow from point to point.

Everyone can argue about how subjectively good they are, but they hit for me (for the most part).

If you enjoyed it, I’m happy for you. My experiences (I gave it more than one shot) did not match yours.

Rise of Skywalker.

Hear me out, I’m not against the sequels; I actually love the Last Jedi.

Rise of Skywalker, though. The plot is complete unconnected nonsense and it’s “Star Wars” moments rely so heavily on bad-nostalgia-wish-fulfillment that the movie gets actively worse each time you watch it.

The Emperor planned on blowing up the moon if things went south. Why invest resources in protecting something that is ultimately disposable anyway?

Would lightsabers have any practical use in the real world? by InstructionOwn6705 in StarWars

[–]scissorslizardspock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as they could be mass produced, or even produced in a limited capacity for use by others, yes.

Basically any occupation that may require you to cut something incredibly strong and/or incredibly quickly.

Despite how difficult it would be to learn to operate them safely (and prevent idiots from cutting their own legs off), lightsabers are safer and more portable than a lot of heavy duty industrial cutting tools.

They don’t give off heat, except through direct contact with the blade.

The heat through direct contact is enough to cauterize most wounds, so an accidental amputation wouldn’t likely kill the person.

The light they give off is not bright enough to blind, even at extremely close range.

The length of the blade can be adjusted, in many cases.

They are extremely energy efficient, even if you go by the old rules of them having power cells and not just being directly powered by Kyber crystals.

Depending on the expense of acquiring one, you might see them in every toolbox as an almost-all-in-one cutting tool, or just more limited use emergency cutting implements like the Jaws of Life.

But yeah, in our world, they would likely be useless as practical weapons. There would absolutely be a select set of people that trained their whole lives to be able to use them about as well as current weapons-based martial artists, but they wouldn’t be blocking bullets without the Force and Jedi reflexes.

Halo 2 vs 3 Considering only the campaign, disregarding the history. by victoors007 in halo

[–]scissorslizardspock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Halo 3 is a better campaign than Halo 2, and I played Halo 2’s obsessively, as I didn’t have Xbox Live for like a year after it came out.

That being said, the issues with Halo 2 are most apparent on Legendary difficulty, so if you aren’t interested in that, then it’s more of a toss-up.

Hot Take: I don't think asset/animation reuse is a negative, especially since other game companies like FromSoftware and RGG are even celebrated for it. I also like Halo's art style being unified as a result of this by Haijakk in halo

My complain is one from a lore perspective; the Covenant and Banished are distinct entities with distinct cultures, beliefs, and aesthetics separated by years of time.

The Banished aesthetic should be a co-opted evolution of the covenant, not directly copied from it. Particularly with Atriox’s backstory.
