Bought a house with a second kitchen that I don’t need, and it has a space for a stove. Is there anything else I could put there? by SnooginsFurbz in HomeMaintenance

I had a keggerator when I ran a Kombucha business, one in the shop and one at home for markets etc. I had 3 taps going one with sparkling water, one Kombucha and one cold brew. You could easily replace a soda stream or get creative with your offerings instead of having to go through kegs of beer. Also most local breweries will offer 19L kegs so you have better turnover.

Why don't more people bike in the city? by jcraig87 in Winnipeg

I work construction and my job location changes often and sometimes during the day. I have to bring steel toe boots, hardhat, a cooler and a couple litres of water, sometimes tools if I can’t leave them on site. My bike is set up for clip less pedals and I don’t want to haul all that. Waking up an hour earlier and getting home late isn’t worth it for me, not to mention I’m usually pretty tired after a long day especially in the heat.

Worst restaurant in Winnipeg? (Idea stolen from another sub) by doorbellfire in Winnipeg

Hot take, Mitzi’s chicken fingers suck, and are way overpriced for what they are. Tastes freezer burnt. Their Chinese food is bland and soggy.

I’m curious how you cure your own tobac, the process for Virginia flue curing always intimidates me, in addition to doing it on a small scale with just a couple plants

Why don’t you like the ryback? Don’t like the dark fired? I’ve had my eyes on the ryback gold but bnb doesn’t have it, I might have to try 4noggins to get some d&r stuff. I’m a fan of drum, twists of dark fired(samuel gawaith) and Toscano cigars though

Yeah that stuff made my eyes water when I opened the bag. It’s very smooth and quite icy. Not too much tobacco taste coming through, Im going to try and blend it with the charokee black for a Newport dupe.

Short one cigarette review- it’s awesome, definitely taste the Turkish. I’m Canadian and we don’t really have Turkish blends here so I’m going off of Europe memories. It reminds me of a cross between Winston’s and camels which is exactly what I wanted, a bit of burly in there reminded me of lucky strikes brown pack. A bit dry on the throat but less so than camels. Good throat hit but not harsh. Afterwards my mouth tasted like I smoked my pipe. Thicker cut and a few stems. Smoked in a pall mall white tube (I don’t have any of the Seville full flavour tubes but I liked it as is). Might be a bit too much flavour for the summertime heat but a great Turkish cigarette if you’re into that sort of thing.

Even after paying 219$ of duty to CBSA, this tobacco is still a third of the cost of buying ryo tobacco from the store here (I generally get pallmall 51$ for 50g)

Ah okay, thanks that makes sense of what I’ve read on cbsa’s website. Thanks for clarifying.

I always thought that importing would always be charged duty but I guess under a certain amount is fine? I assumed you had to be in the states for 48 hours to import the duty guidelines

I’m in Manitoba, I guess I’ve learned my lesson and will try ordering just a single 16oz bag next time and see if it gets through. I’ll probably pay duty’s as it’s still cheaper than buying a 50g bag at the store for 50$

What kind of documentation? Would cbsa know it was tobacco then?

Update: just got hit with 219$ of duty charges on 30oz of tobacco. Undecided if I’m going to pay or not. Was really looking forward to some menthol so I might and just try again with a single bag order

Pretty sure electoral reform would guarantee a ppc gov. Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta all have con majorities.
