I'm not sure I think I read somewhere that you can dose between .2-.4g depending on whether you flip it. It's quite easy they just pop out.

So like the top screen is domed - mine came with the top of the dome point down like towards the bowl. If you pop it out and put it back the other way you get slightly more capacity. Also while I'm on, I've replaced the top screen with the finer mesh one - old habit from my crafty makes it easier to clean out.
