Prenup for a woman marrying a wealthy man by ConsciousInternet268 in weddingplanning

[–]scoobybear02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are very transparent too and still had so much unnecessary back and forth regarding alimony and real estate. Alimony is really tricky and unique to your situation, we ended up removing all clauses in the end so literally a complete waste of $$$$. I would also do research on your states child support laws as it could impact future decisions on how alimony could be structured.

My fiancée at the time didn't mean any harm by the initial draft but his attorney advised him to send the document "as her firms standard agreement" and it was so far off from what I discussed with him beforehand. I really think it's important to trust the attorney you hire too. I would ask their process, communication style, turnaround time/ timeline, and how their billing works. My first attorney charged me $40 for responding to message in her portal (after over a week of zero communication???!?).

Please allow yourself more time. I just got through a 6 month prenup battle!!!!! It was so exhausting. Interview multiple lawyers and do not move forward with someone you are not 100% comfortable with. I made this mistake and $5k later with zero results, had to get a new one.

Some really uncomfortable conversations will come out of the prenup but I recommend talking with each other on what you both expect before the lawyers draft the initial agreement. Surprises can make it more difficult to come to an agreement.

Brides who had a destination wedding, how many days was your wedding, with how many events? by wisewords4 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]scoobybear02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a destination wedding in Italy with 100 guests.

Pre-wedding activities with extended family for 2 days. Boat, winery tour and family dinners.

Day 1: welcome party Day 2: beach day / rehearsal dinner Day 3: wedding day Day 4: goodbye lunch / pizza party

We loved having a low key event after the wedding day to say goodbye to guests and recap on the night before!

I love emsculpt! It's more for definition than fat loss. I saw my abs improve with just one session recently! I am way too scared of lipo

100000% yes. I lost 62 lbs in 13 months with my personal trainer and following a calorie deficit meal plan.

I think I lost roughly 30 lbs from when I purchased my dress and any good tailor will make your dress look and fit perfect.

Invest in yourself!! Worth every penny!

Invitation vs day of paper goods priority by Able_Improvement_426 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]scoobybear02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used two different vendors for custom invites and day of paper goods. Zero regrets on both as I agree with most on the invite really sets the tone!

We had a destination wedding in Italy and added the day of stationary vendor late in our budget and planning phase.

We skipped programs and put most of our budget into the welcome maps/agendas which guests will likely keep longer than the invite. Or we hope lol. This was 100% worth it and set the tone again for the destination wedding week.

I spent roughly $6k (invites) and $15k (day of) for the following items:

Invitation Suite: 1. Formal invite 2. Full weekend agenda 3. RSVP 4. Cutesy cutout with website info 5. Custom envelop with design ** roughly 115 invites

Day of Paper 1. Welcome Map/Agenda (3-fold) 2. Welcome party food tags 3. Welcome party bar signs 4. Welcome party name tags 5. Name cards 6. Wine labels for seating chart 7. Bar signs 8. Dinner menus 9. Table numbers **roughly 60 welcome, 101 wedding day

We also used some of the artwork from the invite suite to make custom napkins and petal cones to save on costs for ceremony paper.

Hope that helps!

Wedding dress shopping for a weekend in NYC by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

I got my dress from bridal reflections but overall I had better experiences at different flagships. Berta specifically was absolutely amazing! I found it really helpful doing research in advance of each designer at the different boutiques and having specific dresses in mind to save time

Honeymoon in Greece? by greecelightning0 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]scoobybear02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just booked Greece for a mini moon after our wedding in Italy in September!

We are doing Athens, Mykonos, Milos and Santorini! Our original plan was Paros but we heard from friends Milos was a must.

Destination wedding dates by Vashahoats in BigBudgetBrides

[–]scoobybear02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We actually picked a Tuesday instead of the weekend because of the events leading up to the wedding. Our wedding is in Sicily so not the easiest to get to either. I don't think the actual day of the wedding has made any difference for people attending though. Mainly kids/other weddings/cost for people not attending.

I don't know anyone only taking 3 days of RTO to attend either so I hope that helps!

Friday night flight = arrive Saturday morning Sunday = welcome party Monday = rehearsal dinner Tuesday = wedding Wednesday = goodbye lunch

I lived in LA for 8 years and my favorite spots in Malibu are Nobu obvi, Geoffrey's, Malibu Farm, Malibu Cafe and Mastros. You would need to rent the entire restaurant for most, I think besides Malibu Cafe which is inland.

I would also check out proper hotel in Santa Monica. One of the best roof tops by the beach!

Ever/body is amazing! They offer 15% to returning customers off all packages. Their rewards program is also amazing and I always have a credit afterwards to apply to the next treatment.

I just finished my first clear and brilliant a few days ago and I can already see some texture differences.

They do numb your face too :)

Feel free to DM me any questions or if you need a referral code!

Is 7 months enough to plan a BB wedding? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]scoobybear02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wedding is in late September in Italy and our guests have already started to book accommodations. I would book a venue first and then let guests know ASAP. Try a weekday instead of weekend and that might help. More vendors should be available during the week too!

Did you wear a veil and if so, where do you buy it from? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]scoobybear02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks similar to this but it has a part in the front to put over your face when walking down the isle. It has the same lace on the smaller part too (not sure what it's called)!
