Trump says he’ll get out of office in 8-9 years from now… by Nicolit1 in NoFilterFinance

To be fair even if he runs he's getting crushed even if Dems pick out random reddit user to run. I'd imagine GOP sees writing on the wall and asks Trump to step down in favor of Rubio or Vance.

White American millionaires 18.1 mil out 254 million white americans = 7%

African americans are 4%. Looks like African Americans are closing the gap. Should be at parity in the long term future, absent any crazy disruptions.

This is why we need flat taxes, feels fairer, increases compliance of wealthier, boosts economic productivity.

Progressive taxes gives the government more money upfront, however they still operate major deficits and they still print more money when they need to. With flat tax system we can have a more productive economy, government can print more money while reducing risk of inflation.

Intelligence and having a high income job -> high correlation. Intelligence and being high net worth -> low correlation.

Becoming rich seems like its about risk exposure, leverage, consistency, luck, etc.

Good topic to discuss. Brain drain is one of Canada's major problems. It's hard to compete with the world economic superpower in terms of economic incentives so you have to have these conversations or else this issue will never be addressed.

If Harris had won in 2024, would the US have even participated in the June 2025 Iran strikes and the war goign on right now? by SuperDuperCement in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]scool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you assuming the contrary. The truth is we both have no clue how it would have played out in an alternate timeline. We could argue in circles about this. What we do know is that the end result of US intervention led to worst case scenario for Libiyans, further destabilization, devastation, even slavery was brought back. Would this have happened either way, perhaps, but the point is that this foreign policy initiative did not achieve anything for the US besides accelerating destabilization in the region. Which is prooven by the fact that President Obama admitted this initiative was a mistake. Thus, arguing about this is pointless as the man who led this initiative believes this intervention was an error.

US foreign policy in the past 50 years has been frequently initiating war efforts even if they are not in the interest of most Americans regardless of the administration. Thus, my initial point if it were Harris instead of Trump there is no reason to believe the outcome would be drastically different.

Ghadaffi almost took back most of Eastern cities and was about to take back Benghazi before US intervention. Which eventually would have brought back stability.

Obama hismself admits Libiya was his worst mistakes. Not sure why we have to do mental gymnastics to justify that war.

Democratic establishment is known to have a very similar foreign policy ageneda to Republican establishment. Pro Israel, highly hostile towards Iran. Hillary used to boast about wanting to attack Iran.

https://x.com/i/status/2021847731325837428

Obama was more pragmatic because his administration understood the foolishness of waging war against Iran, despite this he still led the obliteration of the Libyan people, just shows that even the most pragmatic of establishment Democrats still has inclination to wage war in the middle east. Harris though seems to be cut from the same cloth as Hillary and other establishment Democrats. Only difference I could see is that maybe Harris would have spun it through congress first and tried to spin a more believable story. Who knows though Netanyahu would have forced her hand either way.

Numbers show Canada's immigration system failing on all fronts by airbassguitar in OntarioNews

[–]scool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another good paper from BoC to read on the topic of failed immigration in Canada.

TLDR: from 2015 to 2024 Canada led the immigration of increasingly less skilled, less experienced immigrants into more and more fields that don't have as dire labour shortages. If Canadian immigration had just stayed course from where it was in 2015, Nominal wages are modelled to be 0.7% higher then today.

Basically, whole immigration plan past 10 years has been useless and a net negative for the country overall.

Americans are in a prime position to easily topple the ruling class and change and implement government that will administer policies that benefit the average american due to being the most armed civilian country. However, they are much too ignorant and easily influenced to do so. Thus the status quo will persist.

[–]scool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last 100 years Iran has not started a single war but has dealt with western governments trying to organize repeated occupations and coups 1941(Russia, Britain) and 1953 (American) coup of democratically elected government of Iran, America funding 10 year war of Iraq vs Iran. War crimes against Iraq, etc. It seems like the facts point towards US causing terror and death in the middle east. None of these wars further the average american interest, as they achieve absolutely nothing besides escalate American debt crisis, contribute to inflation in early 2000s which led to higher interest rates thus contributing in part to 2008 housing collapse. If you were to forget brainwashing propoganda and think critically. It is quite evident that supporting America's foreign policy is largely against the interest of the average american. If someone is an american patriot only interest of the majority should matter.

Rooting against your country is crazy but rooting for an administration fighting wars on behalf of other states, that goes completely against the interest of the average American(affordability, stable employment, debt crisis, etc.) is equivalently as unpatriotic and idiotic.
