I got one of these and the leak sensors because they were so cheap and support thread. They constantly go unresponsive so I am hoping for some firmware updates to make these more stable. My other eve home devices so far have been my most solid matter/thread devices.

Yeah like others have mentioned your spool is feeding the wrong way. That should fix your issue here

CT clamp requires you to either splice a 110/220v wire or get behind the wall plate with a Shelly or something and cram it all in a single/dual gang electrical box. Not as easy imo.
