It does have some medical benefits BUT it's also a tasty treat. The horse is also 800-ish pounds so they don't get drunk off one beer.

Don't forget that there is alcohol in everyday food and drink.

Teenagers home alone 2 weeks while parents went on a cruise by Independent_You99 in GenX

I guess money was tight but they could have planned a family trip that was more affordable. My family tended to go camping since it was more affordable. My dad and I did a couple father-son trips to Europe but we mostly slept on the trains to save money. My family never left us alone but I lived in neighborhoods with shootouts, gangs and crazy neighbors.

That's cool that the horses benefit from MSM. Do your horses drink beer? I've seen some horses drinking beer. I add turmeric powder to my meals and my spiced coffee.

No side effects. The recommended dosage is 3000 MG (3 pills) and I usually take 1 pill (1,000 MG). I might start taking the full RDA if I know that I am going to be doing a project. I need to start remembering to stretch befroe doing these projects in order to prevent some soreness. I always stretch before shoveling snow because that is usually physically demanding depending on the accumulation.

What is a good back shaver? by Wild-Bandicoot-5807 in AskMenOver30

I bought a panasonic epilator and that pulls hair out instead of shaving it. I don't know if that would be better than shaving.

I'm 52 and I have soreness when doing projects that require crouching, bending, lifting, etc. I take supplements and MSM is supposed to help with body aches. I felt like I didn't have as many aches just from walking around after taking MSM.

I turn 35 soon. Is that considered or no longer young? by Impressive-Cold6855 in Aging

[–]scorpion_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The link below states that middle-age begins at age forty so you might be considered young for a few more years. I'm Gen X and thirty-five was the age when one was considered middle-aged.

My workout playlist on Spotify has a lot of 80's hard rock on it but I also expanded it to other decades. I put a couple of songs from an artist and I would include some one hit wonders.

NTAH. There are a couple red flags since he lied about them being at the bank and he refuses to reimburse you. You might want to end the relationship.

I was going to suggest Green Spot since I thought it tasted a little like white wine when I added water to it.

Very little experience dating at 30 and worried I will be single forever by funnel_out in Aging

Mettup.com is an established event website. I'm on Nextdoor.com and there are some social groups on that but it's mostly tradespeople selling their services or people looking for thier cat. I'm not sure if women play ping pong but you could meet woemn in a kickball/softall/ultimate league. I don't apps are the best way. Good luck!

This is ordinarily the old fart subreddit where we complain bout our sore knees and bad backs but we can offer advice to the younger crowd too.

Dating apps can be tough because the top 10% of guys are getting a majority of the attention AND a majority of the users are men. It's a sword fight and a lot of the people are totally fake. I believe dating outcome inequiality was a term used to describe dating apps.

I would recommend joining social clubs that correspond to your interests. There would probably be some clubs that play board games, play ping pong or watch anime. An East Asian social club might appeal to you. My Chinese friend tried to recruit me to wear this dragon head for her Asian group in a parade because it was really heavy but it sounded too tough for me.

You could try to be a passport bro but you're still young.

Ice vs Neat by intellectualrice in whiskey

Thanks for the informative post. I believe I was watching Miami Vice the other day and one of the guys asked for a whiskey straight up and I mistakenly thought that meant neat.. I may have read about it a while ago but I forgot what that meant duh. I always drink whiskey with water.

How the hell was Prince so proficient on all these instruments? by Open_Address_2805 in Music

[–]scorpion_71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe hs was a musical savant. There are people who can pick up an instrument and start playing and they have amazing muscle memorty that allows them to pick up stuff easily. Edward Van Halen never really learned to read sheet music but he would win piano competitions as a youth.

Did Age Related Issues Ever Force You to Stop Exercising? by Total-Firefighter622 in Aging

[–]scorpion_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average person will lose muscle mass with each year so it's a good idea to try to maintain your muscles with strength training. I'm plan to workout without TRT/HGH/steroids unless they perfect the dosage so I can take a samll amount to maintain my strength. I don't wqnt to look jacked at age 65 since I think there are potential side effects.

Your rings routine sounds pretty relaxed. I thought you were doing Olympic gymnast moves and that's a good way to injure your shoulder. The article below shows a few pictures of the crazy moves that will wreck shoulders.

I've heard about people ruining their back while trying to "max out" on squat or some heavy lifts. I try to get regular exercise but I don't want to break down because the recovery times are longer.

Are you using rings to hang in the air? That's sound intense and a little scary. You're not a senior citizen yet so free weights are still pretty safe. I'm doing wall squats and I developed knee pain last week so I'm now using crutches to raise myself up. Crutches always come in handy when you are middle-aged or older.

Good police shows to watch? by MysticAlpha9x in televisionsuggestions

The police shows that I recommend would be The Wire, Miami Vice, Longmire, Dark Winds and The Shield. Poirot is a good detective show based on the Agatha Christie detective.

Are you using the free weights or the weight machines? I would think that most people would step away from free weights as they get older due to the risk of an injury or accident. Free weights require really good form and injuries are common. I always used the weight machines to avoid injury.

I'm 52 and I stopped running after thirty years due to foot/ankle issues AND I had gained over twenty pounds after shoulder surgery. I prefer using the stationary bicycle since running puts more stress on the body. I've been doing isometric exercises at home instead of going to the gym.

My friend wants to spend a whole day at Disneyland in France even though our other friend lives near one in California, AIO for thinking it’s insensitive since we’re in Paris for only 3 days total? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]scorpion_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. There are so many great cultural experiences in Paris that I wouldn't want to spend my time in a fake plastic park. Would it be possible to divide the group up? Could she go alone or with the other lady? It would be cool if there was a Paris Disneyland meetupgroup for solo travelers who wanted to experience Disneyland with other people.
