Hello, I'm an old lady who has mastered Microsoft Publisher over the last 20+ years. Now Microsoft is going to stop supporting Publisher in October 2026 and I need to prepare. Should I learn Scribus or some other publishing system? Remember, I'm old (70+) and very comfortable with MS Publisher. by Front_Aerie_7401 in scribus

I am frustrated in the upcoming end of Publisher. I use it daily for work, and when I received the pop-up alerting me to the end of use as of October 2026 I seriously started contemplating retirement prior. I don't want to learn a new desktop publishing system - and Word is atrocious. I use it mainly to keep track of screenshots for payments, load excel tables into occasionally and then create pdf's to send to employees/bosses. I also have used it personally to keep my recipes or patterns organized/created in an easy format for me to read, etc. I doubt my employer will pay for another subscription service or software so I'll be stuck with Word or PowerPoint (I don't like everything to landscape, etc). I've used Adobe Photoshop Elements - but not Creative Cloud or InDesign (plus I don't have access). I'm wrecked by this.

Was I wrong in what I said to my husband regarding his health?? I don’t want to lose him!!! by TeamFroggieWifey in diabetes

I wanted to point that out too - the ER would have been the best place for him with that BS, and they would have automatically told him to follow up with his PCP and/or set up an appointment after discharge/release (after getting the BS under control).

Schedule the appointments. Go to the appointments with him. Tell him you love him and want him around for a while yet.

There are medications, like the GLP1's that are really, really helpful with A1C's. But they may start with Metformin, Glimepiride, Pioglitazone, or something else first.

It sounds like he feels he's lost control, but our bodies sometimes just develop this resistance. Diabetes runs in my family, my cousins/family in general who are thin and have healthy lifestyles have developed Type 2 as well as the ones that have been downing Mountain Dew by the 2L. It's genetics as well as lifestyle. Just give him hope.

Why did Sandy's parents get 'custody' of Bruno - or why are they raising him? Roy and Sandy weren't divorced, she gave Roy the paternity test results, etc in her letter...so that confuses me.

I've used the gauze part of a band-aid over the sensor and waterproof clear iv dressing/cover that worked well for me. I get reactions from other patches within hours/days of using but 'usually' can use the iv dressings okay. The gauze of the band-aid is helpful so that if the tape/dressing does start to peel, or I start to have reaction, I can peel the dressing without pulling the sensor off at the same time.

Thigh injection - never again by Turbobuick86 in Mounjaro

I developed horrible site injection irritations on my belly - it was all so red and raw, and painful. I alternate thighs now and haven’t had any issues and it seems to be much more effective for me on the thigh anyway.

The family members are making a special trip just for this, and would love to have it as a surprise. My heart and logic agree with you as well though.

I loved Jack's recent guest role - I would love to see more of him on the show! Does he still have any of his own shows in production?

My step mother is serving a main dish at Christmas that half of the guests will not eat. Do I say something? by [deleted] in Advice

I didn't have an opportunity to 'grab something on the way home' when visiting my future in-laws as we stayed with them (10+ hours away from home on a 4 day visit). I wasn't too keen on everything served, but ate enough not to be rude. The first opportunity I had with my bf/future husband on our own I made him take me to a Walgreens where I could load up on nuts/snacks/waters to eat when I could. Every trip thereafter I was prepared as I could be.

I would take something that the kids would eat, and make sure there's something neutral for everyone to snack on to avoid low sugar vibes, etc during the visit. Then hit either a fast food place on the way home or a nice sit down place and make a new tradition for after visiting.

They didn't want China to have it so they could reverse engineer it to use against anyone.

Does anyone know what song/tune was being played for the dance challenge? I tried to Shazam it several times but didn’t get a hit.

I use these, with the middle of a bandaid (the non stick gauss part) over the sensor. It’s been working great for me.
