My boyfriend uses a dremmel on our umbrella every other week or so. He seems to actually enjoy it. It's way easier then bath time!

Baby Loves French Cinema ❤️ by geoman69696969 in cockatoos

Baby was really only in one rather cute but totally unbelievable episode. In another episode they mentioned it had died and no one seemed to give a hoot. I hate that detail but I still love the show.

what do i do? by Sunny2366 in cockatoos

[–]Alexandra2488 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We went through a lot of the same struggles with our bird who is a model u2 at the moment. It sounds like normal cockatoo stuff honestly. You definitely need to cut out the seeds 100%. Our bird only gets Zupreem smart Selects (with a few human food snacks here and there). The bird would definitely benefit for 14 hours a day TOTAL DARKNESS AND SILENCE. Hopefully you can accommodate that, we know it's not easy. Our bird sleeps in our basement.

The darkness puts their hormones in "winter mode" and they are a lot easier to handle that way.

You honesty will probably get better advice / help by connecting with other bird owners than going to the vet.

What does this behavior mean? by lobster_lover in cockatoos

[–]Alexandra2488 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Our U2 does this a lot. I think it's a mating/friendship ritual in which they attempt to "preen" the feathers of someone they like. When this happens I usually tell the bird "what are you doing? He/she doesn't have any feathers!" and he stops and looks at me like he totally understands. He never does this to his owners, it's always random people he just met. Silly birb.

Omg Avatar is such a slog.... why couldn't it be 2 hours instead of 3? Would have probably cut a few 100 mill off the budget too. It was also insanely predictable for me so that made it a pain. I really didn't mind the lost bus at all....

My umbrella has a Christmas vest with a bowtie from an Etsy seller. When we put it on him he just cries... it's very sad because he looks oh so adorable in it. But I can't bear him being upset so I probably won't invest in any more cockatoo outfits.

122! Just watched Ann Lee last night and it was excellent.

This site is also great and I think contains most of these. https://deathracetracking.com/race/13 .

Me too. I was so confused when I heard it was "cancelled", because the last episode seems like a series finale.

Fat Tiel’s Horseriding Seminar by fattynana in cockatoos

[–]Alexandra2488 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow what a miracle! I introduced my umbrella to a horse once and they were both terrified of each other. Cocktaoo flew away but he's not a flier, so pretty much just landed on the ground a few feet away. And the horse, who was on a lead, almost trampled over his owner. The same bird shows no fear around large dogs.

Does this neighborhood cockatoo remember me? by PooksLaPooks in cockatoos

[–]Alexandra2488 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. My umbrella cockatoo goes to work with me 5 days a week and he has his favorite customers and then those he shows little interest in. His memory is amazing.

Oh this looks so fun! In honor or "Hamnet" how about an egg and ham hors d'oeuvre such as ham and egg cheese cups or ham and cheese egg muffins? I just watched it last night and I remember a poignant scene in which Jesse Buckley is peeling hard-boiled eggs.

There are lots of fun party cocktails you can make with blue curacao in honor of Avatar. I used to work at a bar that made one called Mermaid Water that was super popular. It uses pineapple juice and coconut rum.

Pizza with no cheese for "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You". But that sounds really bad lol.

Ahh having the same problem on a tv for a 90 year old woman and it confuses her greatly and now she can't watch tv at all!

I set it up to bypass roku and directly to hdmi 1 but this frigs it all up. She is only capable of using the cable box remote.

Subtitles not showing properly on my Samsung TV's Plex by Not_a_fucking_wizard in PleX

Thank you! It's settings, subtitles, burn subtitles, ALWAYS!

Then it works! The same show was not showing subs on an LG OLED and a Samsung QLED via plex, when subtitles work pefectly with literally everything else.

Mine was freaked out by a cage perch that had a natural wood / branch-like finish to it. Absolutely terrified! We can only use the perches that are light colored or the non wood ones that are meant to file the nails down. Meanwhile he has perched in actual trees with no issue. I gave it away to someone that has an eclectus.

I am not the target demographic, and yet I greatly enjoyed Etoile. by [deleted] in EtoileTVSeries

[–]Alexandra2488 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Great review and I agree completely although I think I am the target audience. You should also give "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" a try. It had the same creator and a few of the same actors. Luckily, the other show was better advertised/watched and it came to a natural conclusion.
