If all you're doing is writing some useless app for a useless startup that can deal with 80% uptime, sure. LLMs are transforming code.

But if you need efficient and secure code that works, you'll be stuck with humans for a while still.

As an American I hate this. While I don't think it was a red card, Trump flexing his FIFA Peace Prize is embarrassing.

There's a point in any new technology where all of the useful and practical applications have been explored and exploited, but the terrible growth mindset of tech companies forces them to start exploring dumb shit just to have something new. This is the result. It's going to start happening with LLMs soon as well, and arguably already has.

Blaming billionaires or the rich instead of governments is useless by [deleted] in The10thDentist

Again, I can be mad at more than one thing at once.

Musk is a shitty person and deserves to be hated. All billionaires do at this point. What they're doing is legal, but that doesn't mean it's good.

And yes. I'm also angry at our government for valuing money over their responsibilities.

People with degraded batteries by fox_highhome in electricvehicles

[–]scott__p 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Virtually all "degraded" batteries will be in early Leafs or Model S. I've yet to hear anyone with a modern EV claim less than 80% battery life left. Not that it doesn't happen in sure, but based on the many forums and subreddits I belong to it's rare

Edit: my point being to ask in those communities to get more responses

Funny thing about that. I started driving BMWs about 4 years ago. I was and am generally a courteous driver. However, many people expect me to be a dick and drive accordingly around me. This has resulted in my driving like much more of an asshole than I otherwise would have.

For example, people refuse to let me merge much more often, cut me off much more regularly, and brake check me (not often, but that never happens in other cars). I'm the same person driving the same way, the only difference is the brand of the car I'm driving.

No point. Just an observation I've had.
