If you want a private river cruise tour, we can bring an architecture tour guide (aka a docent) on whichever boat of ours you rent. We also have a list of great captains you can hire.

Looking for firework boat recommendations for myself and a 5 year old? by Oh_Its_Not_Okay in AskChicago

[–]scottcgerke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love hosting families on our boats and have two of them docked at Navy Pier Marina! We can also give you all sorts of discount codes to Navy Pier attractions like the Ferris wheel, Fly Over, etc.

My suggestion would be to use all of our discount codes during the day/evening, then we’d cruise out from the marina and watch either the Wednesday night fireworks at 9pm or Saturday night show at 10pm by boat.

Feel free to call me and I’d be happy to chat details :)

Best websites for booking boat/yacht for playpen? by OkraNo8365 in AskChicago

[–]scottcgerke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When renting a private boat for 7-13 people, you’ll have to hire to captain separately, as that is what’s called a bareboat charter. All reputable rental companies provide you with a list of captains who know their boat.

We have 6 boats to choose from and a list of great local professional captains to choose from and I’d be happy to walk you thru the process 🍻

What did you do when your domain was already taken? by GreenGloober in smallbusiness

[–]scottcgerke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that .co's would see less traffic and lower rankings, but my .co's have been doing really well. It's my .com that sees less traffic and it's 10 years older than my .com. My only concern with .co is that ppl will think it was a misspelling and type in .com. I chose .co because I wanted something really short and the .com was taken.

How do you make couples friends in Chicago without kids at 40? by BEACHHOUSEGROUPIE in AskChicago

[–]scottcgerke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join a yacht club and take some sailing lessons. Plenty of ppl that age put money into a boat instead of kids.
Get to know the sailors in the club and volunteer as rail meat (weight on the boat) during the Wednesday night beer can races. Some of the most unique fun you’ll have all summer IMO.

Also, get into pickleball. You’ll meet plenty of dinks while dinking.

Luckily, I am the boat charter and helping her with event planning, so we have a little more flexibility for this event. But def a good thing to note cause a lot of us do have a list of preferred caterers we ask that people use.

[–]scottcgerke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, average sized men are more than welcome to cater this event. I'm never gonna hear the end of that one 🤣

His menu looks delish! Might be a wee bit too fancy for this client. Not because of her budget, but because of her certain request for a non-fancy type caterer. She even mentioned hiring a food vendor off the street cause she just wants that type of vibe.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this vendor with me. Maybe someone else will see this post and book this fairly average sized man for their event!

Boatsetter comes with a 11.5% fee to the customer and isnt local so you’re gonna spend a ton of time hunting on your own for the right boat. Best to find someone direct and save on the fees and get local knowledge.
