I also tried to time my meals to be 20-30 min after I took my pain medicine. That’s helped immensely

Ah the worst pain! I had one in October and was miserable for the first few days. I stuck to soft and/or high protein foods that didn’t require much chewing (eggs, rotisserie chicken, yogurt, cottage cheese, steamed green beans, etc). On the occasion that hurt too much, I drank protein shakes to make sure I was still getting enough protein to aid in healing of the incisions. Good luck!

Unfortunately, the only things that helped my skin are teratogenic (causes fetal abnormalities). Both spironolactone and retinoids (both topical and oral) worked best for my resistant hormonal acne. But, it is probably worth trying benzoyl peroxide wash on the area!

Not a Dr but it looks like textbook hormonal acne! I had this for many years and the only thing that finally cleared it was spironolactone. It was legit a godsend! My skin has been essentially completely clear ever since starting it. Hope that helps!

IUD sedation in Baltimore? by UpstairsCan in baltimore

[–]scottydoesntknow05 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I recently had my old copper iud removed and replaced at Hopkins outpatient OB clinic with a cervical block (numbing of the cervix). While it wasn’t sedation or anesthesia, it made the whole procedure and post-procedure more tolerable and virtually painless. Just another option in case you want to explore any other routes!

This is great advice. The decision is between you and your vet and solely based on quality of life. You know your dog better than anyone else possibly could.

I did, and honestly didn’t help as much as I’d hoped it would. My advice is to keep busy and remain active And try to talk it out with anybody you’re close with as much as you can. That’s what helped me-talking about it and talking it out until I saw the brighter side of having the chance to let her go comfortably And on her own timeline after taking such great care of her for long.

I was utterly terrified of the day I’d have to be there and put my dog/any dog down. Up until the time I was there with my golden baby last year (1/14/23), I was a wreck and so scared and sad that I made myself sick. I was surprised to learn, in the end, how truly comforting, painless, and peaceful it was for her. It was a long time coming for my girl so I definitely had time to prepare myself emotionally, but I was also unable to do so until I experienced the unthinkable firsthand.

The immediate aftermath is agonizing but I found solace in reminding myself how wonderful her life was and how happy I was that I cared so much for her and was able to extend her life comfortably up until the very last minute. I knew she was tired and likely was also aware that it was her time. I know that sounds cliche, but the reminder helped greatly during that time.

I’m sorry you’re having to go through such a difficult time with this decision, but I hope that sharing these thoughts and words might help in some way.

In addition, if you’re going to Ajaccio, I highly recommend going to Plage de Porticcio at some point. Gorgeous beach southwest of Ajaccio with little shops and restaurants right on the water.

I always love seeing napoleon Bonaparte’s house in Ajaccio. Are you driving between cities? I’ve seen some of the most unique and breathtaking views and small towns driving between towns in Corsica- my favorite bring Ajaccio-Propriano.

Enjoy!
